Happy Saturday!

What are all of you up to? The boy and I are sampling
a new French bistro and hoping to avoid the rain. I wish I owned this outfit to wear on our dinner date. Wishing you all a romantic and fun filled evening!

xoxo

“The langour of Youth – how unique and quintessential it is! How quickly, how irrecoverably, lost! The zest, the generous affections, the illusions, the despair, all the traditional attributes of Youth – all save this come and go with us through life…These things are a part of life itself; but languor – the relaxation of yet unwearied sinews, the mind sequestered and self-regarding, the sun standing still in the heavens and the earth throbbing to our own pulse – that belongs to Youth alone and dies with it.”

-Evelyn Waugh

Topshop dress, Asos boots, Alexander Wang bag, Miu Miu sunglasses, Kabiri bangle,H&M feather earrings.

I bought this dress before London met ideal Summer status, and I am finally thrilled to be wearing the lightest dress without a cardigan or tights, watching it flow lightly in the wind. The perfect seasonal dress can actually make my day 🙂

Our minuscule side street has relished in the delight of hosting this retro camper van for the past few weeks. I’m not sure which neighbor claims ownership, or if the purchase is new, but I am enjoying the way it awkwardly fits alongside the Porches and Audis on our street. The speckles of vintage bohemian culture sprinkled throughout the neighborhood has always been my favourite part of Notting Hill. The area’s character is derived from each market stall resident who has been present for over thirty years, elderly poets and artists living in rustic cluttered apartments, and eccentric vintage shop owners who showcase the most selective, aged collections. Their artistry existed long before, while all of us can only survey and sample from the sidelines, hoping for a dash of their magic to trickle in.

Urban Outfitters top, Kate Moss for Topshop shorts, H&M necklace, Asos boots, Alexander Wang bag.

Sunday was a little too crazy for my liking, so we’re taking a week to relax and sample healthier options. At times I worry about the consequences of living without abandon.

images from random tumblr blogs.

I have a growing obsession for flipping through fashion related tumblr blogs for hours on end, or until my eyes hurt from being glued to a macbook screen. The images are a sanctuary when I’ve flipped through all the usual Bloglovin suspects but am still craving more. There is something enticing about endless fashion images and reliving forgotten editorials. This is obviously a sign I spend an unhealthy amount of time on the internet, but if you are looking to start a mild addiction my favourites at the moment are cocochic, littleteaspoon, and unfaithful2me.

Happy August 1st! How will you be spending this Sunday?

xoxo

H&M cardigan, Asos top, vintage camouflage skirt, Topshop boots, Alexander Wang bag, Low Luv necklace from my-wardrobe.com.

Last night ended up becoming a mixture of random drink dates, evening birthday celebrations, and tipsy introductions, all ending with an unusually late dinner with the boy. Summer is definitely about impulsive plans, the relief of an evening breeze, and sleeping until you are woken by the blazing sun.

Vivienne Westwood Anglomania blouse from my-wardrobe.com, Topshop shorts and earrings, Grey Ant sunnies.

The sheer amount of birthdays, trips, meetings, and planning to do in the next few months is flowing in at an overwhelming pace. I generally turn towards novels, yoga, and comfort food when stress levels begin to rattle my nerves, but I have a feeling the rest of this year will be a challenge to juggle regardless of my meditation efforts. My spontaneous nature causes me to always jump headfirst into life altering decisions, so my initial intentions never find the opportunity to derail. The method may not be the most organized or efficient, but what is life without a little adventure?

The light draping and unique shape of this Vivienne Westwood Anglomania blouse immediately caught my attention last week. The airy, versatile shape makes it an ideal piece for the upcoming transitional months, and will easily slot into your wardrobe throughout the year. I wore it in a slightly messy manner to suit my summer mood, but I can imagine it looking incredibly edgy and chic in a more sleek Autumn look. Check it out at my-wardrobe.com in both antique gold and black!

Knitted Maxi Dress and Oversize Cardigan by Boutique from www.topshop.com

Carvela “Swanky” and Kurt Geiger “Jacqi” from www.kurtgeiger.com

These are on my current “must buy” list. When I can’t sleep I shop online. I would not recommend this as a cure for insomnia, or if you are trying to bulk up your savings account, but my best purchases are generally acquired just before the sun rises in a pitch dark bedroom.

Zara top and shoes, Topshop shorts, Rolex watch, H&M bangles.

Notting Hill has been bombarded by tourists en masse. It is slightly surreal to visit your favourite restaurant on a Tuesday night, and find it packed to the brim with patrons staring at maps and guide books. On a plus side, every night mimics a weekend event, and the delectable food and vintage market is now present five days a week. Sometimes it feels awkwardly invigorating to reside in a tourist destination, but I am definitely thankful our street does not hold any shops, and is hidden enough to remain deserted.
