Zara shirt and shoes, Topshop shorts and headband, Miu Miu sunnies.

Sorry for the lack of posting, but lazing around in barely there outfits attempting to stay cool does not make for interesting posts. We finally escaped the flat today and watched Toy Story 3 with 50 screaming kids, snapped up a few final sale items, and acquired upset stomachs from far too many food court snacks. Going to Westfield Mall kind of reminds me of being a teenager in suburban America. I will return to my London life tomorrow 😉

I feel silently caught between one dream and the next, anticipating the right moment to run with full speed. Every thought, idea, or emotion lies suspended in air waiting for my signal. Often we fear our time here is short, others search for an escape from the mundane, I would rather avoid wasting even the smallest second. If a better future is within our grasp is there really a reason to wait?

Kipling A/W 2010 Lookbook

I was ecstatic to answer the door yesterday afternoon and find the newest addition to my ever growing bag collection. I fell instantly for Kipling‘s “Darcy” after becoming acquainted with its butter soft leather, discreet zip detail, and comfy cross body style. The fact that my 13″ Macbook Pro fits perfectly inside is just an added bonus. More close-up pics in the very near future.

Thank you to Lucy and Kipling!

Topshop boots and hat, vintage skirt and necklace, Forever 21 top, Chanel temporary tattoos, Kabiri bangle.

Still waking far too early and sleeping later than expected. Absorbing as much positivity from the sunshine as possible and hoping to visit a beach in my near future. Intentions to return for sporadic workouts at the gym. Contemplating the beginning of a healthier lifestyle. For a week at least 😉

Zara dress, vintage shirt, Kookai belt, Topshop bag.
We spent yesterday running around London, partaking in activities I usually convince myself are far too time consuming for my busy lifestyle. This statement of course is never true, and only derived from pure laziness. So I was happy to finally spend several hours trawling through the shops of Oxford Circus, dine outdoors amongst everyone on their speedy lunch hour, fully engross in a movie on the giant Odeon screen in Leicester Square, and make my way further north than usual for a friend’s garden BBQ. The only downfall was our poor puppy was home alone the entire day, but it was nice to hop away from Notting Hill and feel the electric London buzz.

Supertrash kimono from Asos, AA tank, Topshop shorts, New Look boots, Grey Ant sunnies.

snagging coveted outdoor tables at our favourite pub, escaping from minor drizzle into the sanctuary of sales shopping, tipsy late nights with friends and questionable music, long days and short naps, unsuccessfully sleeping until noon despite every intention to do so, anticipation of a detox come friday, snuggling with the dog and missing the constant presence of extreme air conditioning, staring at my open suitcase wondering how i will tackle the unpacking. this haphazard life will continue until order returns on friday…

H&M dress, cardigan from market in Hong Kong, Topshop boots and necklace, Kabiri bangle.

My brother is visiting London for the first time in two years, so we are grasping the opportunity to immerse him in all the little treasures our neighborhood has to offer. Each evening has been spent circulating our preferred gastropubs, familiarizing him with the local bar staff, and satisfying his urge for an infamous kebab at night’s end. I am now happy to announce, he loves British food, has a packed social calendar, and is already contemplating his next visit. But before his trip ends we still plan to bombard the shops of Oxford Street, partake in a London garden BBQ, and maybe dabble in the nightclub scene. With jetlag constantly hindering my energy, lets hope I’m still standing at the end of next week.

thrifted crochet top, Topshop tank and wedges, New Look skirt, H&M feather necklace and bracelets.
We have returned to a slightly drizzling, refreshingly cool London. Despite extreme jet lag and the strong urge to detox, our busy week is allowing nothing less than cocktail driven nights and sociable lunch meetings. Maybe after my brother’s departure and a string of proper friend catch-ups I will be given the opportunity to allow my body rest. Until then I will be running on caffeine and sheer excitement.

Happy Friday!
