Spent the week doing just about nothing.  Lounging in our spa, indulging in massages, eating far too much food, drinking ginger tea by the gallon, and cuddling with the boy and puppy in two hour increments.  Happiness can often be so simple.  Surround yourself with those who make you smile and that smile may never leave your face.  With the next two and a half months being full of planning and preparation, I’ve began to learn to concentrate on positives and ignore any other noise. Take and learn from where you can, but at the end of the day you know what makes your world turn. Now is the time to make sure sleep, laughter, and warm hearts are top priority.

For those of you who follow me on Instagram (@ChristingC), you probably already know the boy and I are expecting 🙂  Already over 6 months along, so less than three months to go.   Starting a family is a daunting step that we have discussed and anticipated for a little while now.  The sensation of growing a little person inside of me is exhilarating in itself and I feel ecstatic with every hint of movement.  I’m guessing our world is about to shift dramatically very soon, but I’m so excited to bring our little girl up in our carefree and non-conventional ways.  The boy and I never were up for following the rules through marriage and I’m sure parenting will be a similar adventure for us.  I was daydreaming today about the years I lived in London as an irresponsible single girl.  Those years before I met the boy and before this blog began. I still can sense so many of that innocent girl’s passions and spontaneity in my daily decisions.  Her nonchalant spirit and disregard for everyone’s expectations.  Those elements are still so strong in my personality today.  The main emotion I find missing are the random moments of loneliness that used to hit when I traipsed the cold streets with music blaring in my ears, family less holidays that quickly passed, and weekends in bed nursing my colossal hangovers.  Loneliness is a very foreign emotion to me now and something I don’t ever want back.   I am relishing the sense of belonging in this little family we will soon become.

I’m going to be posting more bump pics and recommending all my pre-mommy discoveries on here and Instagram (@ChristingC).  Follow me and the hashtag #ccbabybump on Instagram for updates about pre-natal spa treatments, cute bump flattering outfits, baby outfit shopping, and pregnancy friendly workouts.

And for all of you who aren’t into the whole baby thing…don’t worry!  Fashion Hedonism will still be all about outfit posts and fashion inspiration for you to browse.

C. by Christing C. Montmartre Sweater and Portobello Short.  Topshop Hat and H&M boots.

These were taken on the single day we headed back to visit Notting Hill.  One of the chilliest afternoons during the trip, but worth every sliver of sunshine peeking through the barren trees.  We made a pit stop at Rum Kitchen to burn our tongues on spicy ribs and pushed our way through the tourist littered market searching for sanctuary in any empty pub corner.  The relatively uneventful day made me miss the little quirks about residing in London. Pints of beer passed around at noon,  lunches last until dinner, girls layered in eccentric style, prams on every organic cafe corner, and trees lining every pleasantly worn out street.  Can’t wait to return this summer.

H&M boots, Topshop Hat, and Givenchy Bag.
After three weeks of traipsing around London with the boy, sleeping as much as possible, consuming copious amounts of delicious food, and finding cozy corners to hide from the cold, we are back in HK.  Less than 24 hours into our front door and we are back to a full schedule of events and meetings.  The only way to be in this city.  I have a few posts to share with you guys from London, so lets just start with this and we’ll go from there.

Having 24 hours of laziness all to myself.  Partaking in chocolate brownie indulgence and a lot of Gossip Girl reruns.  Chilly weather awakens my peppermint tea and snuggly sweater addiction in a way only London can accomplish.  Less than a week left of our trip.  I plan on delving into a few more vintage markets and unveiling hidden treasures to prepare and update our HK home.  For now a quick nap is awaiting.

The boy and I are having fun playing tourist during our trip in London.  We’ve lived here for years, burrowed into the depths of Notting Hill and enjoying all the neighbourhood quirks the area had to offer.  Staying in North London for a few weeks is a new novelty for us, so we are taking the opportunity to shop the many boutiques, cozy up in inviting pubs, and exploring food markets bursting with mulled wine and melted cheese.  Despite blistering rain and wind, we are finding ways to keep toasty with genuine smiles and laughs dominating each day.  Long getaways are the best way to drift away from reality.

Stepping into the first few days of the new year and prepping myself for all that we have coming in the next few months.  2014 is likely to be the most challenging, yet fulfilling for the boy and I.  We are finding our way down an unknown path and are creating excitement and anticipation in equal measures.  We always know just how to surprise our family and do things our own way.  It’s what I cherish most about our relationship, and we plan on taking these steps in the exact manner we handle everything else.  Plenty of advice and help have been hurtled in our direction and we are grateful for every bit of support, but making our own rules has always been our way.  I can’t wait for us to start this journey, finding out how to mold our lives to fit our new addition.  I don’t fear change, I embrace it, and I’m ready for us to push boundaries to create our ideal life.

Been lazily spending the holiday hours stuffing ourselves with satisfying roast dinners and catching up beside sleep inducing open fires and duvet abundant beds.  The weather is just frightening enough to keep us happily snuggled indoors enjoying good company paired with a million cups of English Breakfast tea.  I often forget how fast paced cities can make you forget little pleasures, like chilly walks, silent corners in deserted pubs, afternoons which aren’t littered with phone calls and messages, and just simple fresh air.   The boy and I are on full on break mode before we head up to London to ring in 2014.

I have been craving fields strewn with masses of wildflowers, cold breezes tickling my scented skin, assortments of decadent chocolates paired with steaming hot chamomile tea, and staying tightly snug with the boy.  This birthday, I was in the mood to forgo parties and champagne for cupcakes, ice cream, and kisses.  We meandered through the streets hand in hand, stopping momentarily for delicious bites of satisfying treats and glimpses of fresh air.  The first peaceful celebration in awhile, but finishing the day with ice cream and the boy in bed was the best possible ending.

HK is having a major cold spell.  When I say cold spell, it means a chilly London summer day… but it’s a good enough reason to pull out the cozy sweaters and beanies for an afternoon of peppermint tea and people watching.  Over sized everything in winter means I can over indulge in cakes and pastries while meeting with friends just before we all jet off for our Christmas trips.  Don’t miss out on this one to get you through all the big holiday feast 😉
