My mood is getting lazier by day.  The last month of pregnancy is in full swing and all I crave are naps and chocolate.  It’s extremely tempting to sleep all day, and I usually give in to the unproductive urge.  It’s one of those life moments when you convince yourself you deserve all the indulgences you are allowed, and I am very lucky the boy spends most of his days trying to meet these indulgences.   Outfits are becoming repetitive, and I’m thankful for my little collection of flowy dresses that are carrying through these precarious few weeks.  Today felt like Spring and just in time.   Hopefully the baby will arrive on a beautiful sunny day and love blue skies and fresh flowers just like I do.

Asos Boots and Topshop HK hat.
I have found it difficult to be a “show off that belly” mummy to be throughout my pregnancy.  All of my respect to those who aren’t afraid to flaunt the bump, but with swollen legs and more weight than I’m comfortable carrying, I’m more in the mood to hide behind a-line shapes and layers.  My new oversize biker provides adequate camouflage and keeps me feeling like myself despite slight insecurities.  I happily created it in a rosy pink to match my cheery current mood and play along with S/S14’s love affair with pastels.   Can’t wait to be back in my denim shorts and pairing this with a plain white tank and cut offs this summer.

Wearing C. by Christing C. and Carin Wester backpack.

It’s been a whirlwind shopping spree and cozy evenings snuggled on the couch type of weekend.  I’m escaping the drizzling outdoors as much as possible and maybe indulging in too much fast food due to pure laziness.   Rearranging our place into a comfortable space has confined us even more than usual.  Nesting has come into full force and we are in accelerated preparation mode for the little one.  I most definitely have goals of getting off my lazy behind once the Monday sun comes into existence.

Playboy turns sixty this year and Lane Crawford are celebrating with lots of fun at Lane Crawford Blitz.  I played around with my cute set of bunny ears pre-event and prepped to catch up with a few of my favourite girls.   Check out Instagram to see all the fun!

Sheung Wan has been my neighbourhood for the three years we have called HK home, and I continue to  fall in love with it a little more each day. Little cafes have blossomed on every corner, cute bistros are nestled between local eateries and eccentric galleries, and the mixture of old and new acts as a photographer’s feast.  Nosh is one of the area’s new additions and definitely meets the personality and quality requirements.  With a buzzing open front entrance, simple and delicious chalkboard menu, and some of the most delicious desserts I have sampled in the city, I know I won’t be able to stay away.  I plan on visiting for their lemon tart and fresh coffee very soon, and can’t wait to try freshly baked  croissant for breakfast.  Warning…arrive early as their desserts sell out fast.

Dinner date outfit with the boy.   Evenings out are kinda unappealing to me at the moment unless they involve the boy, candles, and delicious food.  We are currently keeping busy with a vigorous redecorating project . This basically means clearing out our flat one room at time and refilling it with prettier items. I am shocked how a space can be so much bigger with just a little rearranging.  There have been a few meltdowns amongst Ikea crowds and bickering over the position of a footrest, but we slept like babies in our hard earned new bedroom last night.

Happy Wednesday.  I’ve been feeling extra sleepy and probably napped more than my fair share in the last 24 hours.  I wore this outfit on an abnormally warm afternoon, just before cold gusts of wind overtook the city before sunset.   Due to the expanding bump, I’ve been forced to shelf my beloved heels for a few months in favour of flats.  Sneakers are now my new favourite shoes and these Converse (the boy and have matching ones), slot pretty easily into most of my outfits.   For under $300 HKD a pop it would be pretty easy to stock up on colours.  Maybe red next?

Zara vest and boots.  Topshop HK beanie.

What better way to start off the week than with a bit of sparkle.  We’ve gotten off to a busy start with plenty of reorganising and planning to do.   Spring cleaning is commencing just a little earlier this year, which means I will be purging not only my wardrobe but our clusters of random goody bags, beauty products, and things we’ve picked up along the way.   I think the boy and I have become slight hoarders since moving to HK, and it needs to stop now.  Who needs every press release imaginable and a pile of unopened pink lip gloss I will never use?  I’m looking forward to refining and categorising my wardrobe as well as making room for our new arrival.   Speaking of… I have decided to start another blog for all things baby bump related.  That way Fashion Hedonism can stay the same and for everyone who is interested in my pregnancy journey visit me here >>>>> Baby by Christing C.

The boy and I always reflect on our insane love of travel after every trip.   Now that we are expecting a little addition to our family, the planning has accelerated into full gear.   We contemplate where we want her to witness her first blood orange sunset, swim in the salty Mediterranean Sea, sample her first bite of authentic Italian pizza, or play on a snow drenched mountain.  Instead of changing our lifestyle we want to teach our children to embrace it.  Both the boy and I were brought up in broken families, in world where divorce seems more acceptable than happily ever after.  For me it’s imperative she understands the meaning of true love, and for her to have the opportunity to witness it everyday.   Travel doesn’t just bring enjoyment, but it allows you to see love in the world from a million different angles.  To delve into the intricacy of each culture, and fall in love with the mixture of nature and tradition over and over again.  For us life is an insane mixture of experiences and familiarities found in all our favourite cities.  To be able to mix in art, music, fashion, cuisine, and nature in all corners of the world and fall in love again while experiencing the familiar and new.  To return to your favourite Parisian spot and reflect upon all that has changed between now and the previous time visited.  I hope our little girl will crave love and adventure as we do, that she will believe in passion, true love, and fairy tales.

C. by Christing C. Seattle Plaid Shirt, Portobello Short, and Malibu tank.
Unif Hellraisers c/o Shopbop, Zara vest.

Seattle has been shining in the spotlight since their Superbowl win, so now is probably an appropriate time to introduce the rainy city inspired C. by Christing C. shirt in red.  I resided in the birthplace of grunge music in my teenage years and attribute my slightly messy, grunge influences to those years.  I still remember the first plaid shirt that was artfully wrapped around my waist and the beat up combat boots that looked so much better with the front toe scuffed.  Cut off denim shorts were a definite staple by age  twelve and chokers, crop tops, and black eyeliner soon followed.  I sometimes forget how many of these fashion habits I picked up from such a young age.  A time when it wasn’t even defined as fashion to me, just what I felt like wearing.  The same nonchalance still carries my everyday style.  The “I really actually don’t care that much” messiness is always a part of my style and lifestyle.  Some things are hard to shake.
