I love nothing more than waking up to a string of new shows on Style.com. After viewing dozens of awed tweets, I couldn’t wait to click away at Rodarte’s S/S 2010 collection. My jaw dropped as I witnessed images of a gothic fairytale, and yearned to see the designs come to life. Now that I have viewed the complete show via youtube, I’m officially obsessed. In a recession where we are swayed to embrace high street fashion, and develop a cult following for Topshop (which of course I too love and adore), I found it refreshing to scope a collection loaded with intricate detail, innovative design, and evidence that distinct attention was paid to every aspect of the production. If only my budget allowed for me to be swathed in deep dyed shredded dresses, and towering caged heels. I’m off to buy a stack of Sharpies, and will teach the boy to tattoo my arms a la Rodarte.
