Throwback to that trip to Phuket a few months back.  Just before we set off on our next destination, I wanted to give you a little beach inspiration to get everyone excited.
Boathouse by Montara was located at the heart of Kata Beach and far busier than the other resorts we stayed at during our time in Phuket.  If you want a variety of restaurants, shops, bars, long tail boats for island hopping, and general people watching this is the must visit spot.  The beach was vast, with calm blue water, and was warm enough just to stand there and chill out.  I’m not joking, our baby fell asleep to the light lull of the waves when we took her for a dip.  I was pretty obsessed with their luxe dining venues that gave a distinct European feel and was an unbeatable spot to catch that ridiculous sunset.  We spent our days lounging at the trendy pool club, ordering fresh gigantic coconuts, grilled seafood, and dozing off in the pool that was practically sitting on the beach.  I even spent my birthday here, and was lucky enough to have it fall on their Lobster Sunday Brunch day.  Safe to say I indulged until it was time to go home.
More wanderlusting coming your way soon.

Flying from one task to the next unsure of how my days are passing.  I’m trying to relax and snap out of autopilot mode in hopes of a more regimented way of dealing with just about everything.  We have big hopes and dreams this year which means more work and serious faces than I usually allow.  Brainstorming in the early hours, forgoing meals for marathon google sessions, and welcoming a free Sunday with the most open of hearts.  I’m sleepy just thinking about it… so goodnight for now 😉

It’s been awhile and I somehow didn’t notice.  I’m going to learn to be better on here.  Pinky swear…take more pics, post more pics 😉

Lately it’s all about planning two beach holidays happening in about a week and keeping up with daily date nights and an almost crawling baby.  I need to spin this week and get my holiday wardrobe in full gear.

Missed u!

Monday has arrived faster than expected and I’m trying to wrap my mind around all that has surpassed in the past six months. I often dwell in moments of anxiety when it dawns on my subconscious that it is pretty feasible for four years to pass within a flash. Do you ever fear not enough has been accomplished in your 24 hour day? I have friends who can run at full pace 99% of the time, and then there’s me.  Achievement without my relaxed happiness basically means nothing.  The actual idea that my daughter has to go to school by the age of two and that I need to consider which education path she should take before her first step has even occurred is extremely surreal.  As each generation grows we become more competitive, more structured, more determined.  We dream bigger but what happened to just lying on a beach, maybe for a month, building a good foundation for a loving family.  I am starting to realise the healthier my relationship is with my daughter and my husband the more well adjusted she’ll be in future.  What is a great education and all the opportunity in the world if she doesn’t feel safe or know the true meaning of love.  Everyone speaks of planning how they will teach their children math, reading, and writing, but how do we teach our young about the world.  How to search for true love and not to throw yourself away for anything less.  How to be strong, confident, and voice your views.  How to share and have compassion for others less fortunate than yourself.  How to enjoy your life rather than trapping yourself in a path that is forced upon you.  Half a year will have passed since she entered this world and I just want to make sure she smiles and laughs through most of her day.  Everything else will come later, and if all those crazy logistics don’t really work out just as well as the super planners then it will still be okay because we are happy and have each other.

Ba&sh knit jacket, C. by Christing C. slip dress, and Zara boots.
Lazily browsing the web, eyes barely open, half paying attention to the new Kiera Knightly movie playing in the background, leaning my sleepy head upon the boy’s shoulder, and sipping decaf coffee with a little bowl of ice cream.  Sundays are often the best part of fun packed, non-stop weeks.  I relish in romantic date nights, champagne fuelled recklessness, and encouraging my creative mind to run wild but sometimes I just want to snooze, cuddle my family, and mindlessly window shop online.  Hope you are all enjoying a lazy Sunday too.

Loving the nostalgic idea of Autumn despite the fact that HK doesn’t really cater weather wise to this season at all.  I’m still drawn to the mood.  A certain quiet buzz as we near the end of the year. It’s been a big year for me and the boy and I are ensuring we end it with a bang.  Lots of plans in action for the next few months, and a general thankful attitude towards all that has happened.  As I inch into one busy week to the next, I’m willing the months to move in slow motion so I am able to relish each second and remember it all.

Traipsing through my old stomping grounds and reminiscing about a past life has me thinking how much things have changed in the past few years.  Not only had the boy and I uprooted everything we knew in exchange for an enticing opportunity, but during this shift our dreams, goals, and needs have moved along to a new place.  It can be daunting to return somewhere that little has changed and realize how much you have in this process.  I now relish in time spent alone with my family and need little else than laughter, cuddles, and full time moments in our trio.  Rampant stories about escapades in the debatable fun of one night stands, boring debates about which neighbourhood is trendiest, or just general time spent perfecting that make up full face are just that much less interesting.  Instead I dream of deserted islands and foreign family adventures, the perfect ingredients to a cozy home, making the my girl grin her biggest smile, and long midnight chats with the boy.  Nothing is ever perfect, but I am a believer in building your dreams, not throwing in the towel too soon, or taking the road most travelled.  Do it your way and regret will never find you.

Hope all of you are enjoying a sunny weekend.  I’m trying, but more likely will be rampantly prepping for our trip and finishing up last minute projects.  Somehow it feels like all the work rolls in minutes before departure time.  I’m already dreaming of my feet in the sand and gigantic french salads.  Can’t believe it’s been three years since the boy and I went to play in Cannes.  Truth is I am pretty aware of how content I am with life in general at the moment by the fact that I’m not seriously over excited for the trip, and while I’m anticipating some European fun, the boy and I are already looking forward to the return.  Life in HK just keeps getting better by month and I’m acutely aware of how we have become religiously accustomed to all the luxuries it entails.  Despite my obsession with travel, I’m pretty happy with short trips and coming back to home base.

Getting prepped for an accelerated end to the summer.  Perfecting our procrastination skills and willing ourselves to get just a little healthier before hitting that beach.  I’m not sure how we will actually survive without HK’s luxuries for three weeks (yes that includes nanny, champagne brunches, weekly parties, and yacht ready weather), but a good dose of European culture should make up for the inconvenient shock. You know that feeling when you are at the brink of everything becoming perfect?  I’m dangling right there.

Parisian style is something that really resonates with my personal tastes. Ever since my summer in Paris at the naive age of 18, I have been addicted to their effortless, chic but alluring way of putting together each look. It’s so easy to fall in love in Paris. To become seduced by the beauty, indulgent sweets, stunning parks and monuments, secret cafes, alluring boutiques, and romantic mood that rings in every corner of the city. Sonia Rykiel’s collections represent all of these aspects and also add a playful nature I can’t resist. Their younger, more affordable line, Sonia by Sonia Rykiel is everything I look for in what I want to wear. Perfect, chic pieces that are easily mixed and matched, integrating girlish prints, ice cream ready colour palettes, and tactile textures.

I had the honour of attending a private dinner in HK recently to meet Lola Rykiel, the ultra cool French girl behind the brand. She’s the embodiment of Sonia by Sonia Rykiel’s image. We had fun chatting about Instagram captions, taking goofy selfies, and even stories of dating in the digital age. It ended up being one of those great girls’ nights out when you want to spill all your secrets.

Sonia by Sonia Rykiel’s Vive Paris video presenting their AW14 Collection shows this carefree, fun attitude, and even includes all our favourite tourist monuments. I’m obsessed with the playful nature in the way each look is styled and the tone throughout the video. A perfect brand to share with your friends, mix with your own wardrobe, and something that’s stylish but fun at the same time.

Check out the video below 🙂
