Topshop tee, vintage sequin skirt, H&M men’s hat, Topshop boots, Georg Jensen pendant and vintage necklaces.

I know this is familiar, but here are all of my favourites remixed and thrown back at you.

There are moments when variety creates a string of excitement, but I do have to admit a slight preference to habit. My happiness is often derived from dining at our usual restaurants, holidaying in the same destination each summer, and relying on a small rail of clothes which are reliably comfortable, yet blogworthy. An adventurous streak will always trickle back, but I will undoubtedly discover a path back to the familiar. After a lifetime of school hopping, too many house moves, and city skipping every few months, a sense of relief blankets me when habits stream back into life. My restless alter ego is always planning her next move (we’re already contemplating Hong Kong or California) but for this instant I’m happy to cozy up with the usual sequence of events.

I have watched this far too many times, and it still manages to make me smile and dance each time. Every look is breathtaking, and I love the fact that they’re walking to “Rapper’s Delight.” It’s safe to say I will be purchasing plenty of “shiny” items in the near future.

Zara vest, AA ‘sexualitee,’ New Look skirt, Topshop boots, H&M 20 den tights.

Life sweeps past so quickly I am often left in the dust. Each week I compose a mental list of the friends I must meet, coffee dates I dearly miss, the errands that have been ignored for far too long, and phone calls that are so long overdue it’s embarrassing. For some inexplicable reason, my list is never marked complete, and so the cycle begins again. I just wanted to say, “Lets definitely meet for drinks next week!” “I miss you too.” and “Hi, Mom! Hope you and Rob are well!”

Love,
Christing

Zara sequin skirt, Vintage Versace leather jacket, AA tank, Topshop and vintage necklaces, H&M men’s fedora, Steve Madden boots, Gucci purse.

I know this hat is making a regular appearance on the blog, but it is my solution to rainy London without an umbrella. After misplacing, forgetting, or giving away over 100 umbrellas I gave up. A wool fedora is enough protection for a girl that relies mainly on taxis and rides from the boy.

Do you have things in your life you believed you could never live without, but when it suddenly shifts away you realize the attachment was only a reaction to habit? I now survive without a microwave, bathtub, and guest rooms. Upon closer contemplation, I discovered I rarely touched the microwave, infinitely prefer showers, and never appreciated hosting in my home. A few months back, I felt strongly the boy and I could only be blissful with two floors and three bedrooms. We now reside in a generous studio, and I enjoy nothing more than having my bed in the same room as everything else. Maybe it is my slight fear of big spaces and going downstairs at dark, the fact that we’re constantly out or on vacation, or that I prefer watching TV in my bed rather than a couch, but the cozy space has definitely swayed me. Either this is really the best living arrangement for us, or I am just a low maintenance, adaptable girl. I’m pretty sure it’s the first option.

Topshop shorts, Vintage Sex Pistols tee and fur coat, H&M men’s hat, Asos boots.

Apparently this is my wake-up in the morning, seriously hungover, cannot face the world, throw on whatever is lying on the floor outfit. This melange of garments is a reliable cover for coffee runs, magazine pick-ups, or a five minute walk with my energizer puppy. I am eternally grateful to the person that designed ridiculously oversized sunglasses.

(Obviously for those really bad hangovers and late mornings, I’m wearing something that would be a travesty to post on a fashion blog. But we will pretend moments like that don’t actually exist.)

WWD, Style.com

I am speechless.
Riccardo Tisci has done it again. Sheaths of light, luxurious tulle transformed into exquisite cocktail dresses, geometric, sharp tailoring, and towering bandage footwear. A collection fit for a modern, rock fairy princess. Exactly what I dreamed of being when I grew up….What more can a girl desire?

Uniqlo men’s sweater, thrifted sequin skirt, H&M men’s hat, Steve Madden boots.

As the weather cools down, coats become necessary, and the leaves commence their colour change, I love nothing more than early evenings in a Notting Hill pub. My top picks are by far The Westbourne and The Cow, located in extreme close proximity, and both puppy friendly. In the summer months we avidly avoid these haunts due to an overflow of tourists, and ridiculous wait for a drink and table (it seems to be everyone in London’s favourite pub on a hot sunny day). But last night was the first in a season of pub evenings, when most patrons reside in Notting Hill, tables only require a two minute wait, and the dog even manages to score a seat and water bowl. I am happy to admit a preference to cozy Autumn evenings over a scorching London summer day. Save the heat for the beach, and let the cold commence!

Tee from Fairfax Market in West Hollywood, Topshop skirt, Matalan heels, Miss Selfridge headband, Gucci sunglasses.

To say Paris was a fun trip, would be an extreme understatement. The boy and I miss it already, and have vowed to make more frequent trips to a city that is just a little skip from London. My Dad made a very suitable shopping, eating, drinking partner, and thanks to his generosity we were able to sample some of the best cuisine and experiences the city had to offer. I’m anticipating the next time I can dine in a buzzing Parisian brasserie, vintage browse in Le Marais, drool at every treasure on offer in Galleries Lafayette, and stroll along La Seine underneath moonlight. I think Eurostar may be my new best friend.

Zara vest, dress from random boutique in Hong Kong.

Here are a few of my disposable camera pics from Paris. I’m kinda enjoying the vintage effect.

Life can be slightly guilt inducing at the best of times. This blog, rightfully named Fashion Hedonism, documents my love for all things fashion related and my indulgently hedonistic lifestyle. I must admit, I have an extreme penchant for doing only that which pleases me. I search for the moments that will satisfy my cravings in the present, not considering the consequences of the future. I yearn to reside permanently in my early 20’s, with an unlined innocent seeming face, the stamina to party for nights on end, the tolerance to live in a heap of mess, and a complete disrespect for strict schedules. There are times I do wonder when I will tire of waking at any hour I please, existing in absolute comfort, and possess enough single mindedness to ignore problems until the situation is dire. For now, it is barely a passing thought, but there are flashes of contemplation when I stop to truly swim in the luck and bliss I have been granted, as I know we can not remain forever young.

Peter Dundas’ Pucci S/S 2010 collection truly caught my attention and successfully won me over. Each piece encompasses everything I would wish for in a spring/summer wardrobe. Flowing sheer chiffon, playful clingy body con, oversize aviators paired with bright raffia bags, nude swimwear, ultra high gladiator booties, and sheer and sequins in abundance. He added just enough rich colour, and complimented with muted pinks, and plenty of nudes. The hippy, dishevelled centre part made for a satisfying finishing touch. My dream wardrobe for our summers in the south of France. Now to save for one of everything.
