Vintage lace dress and necklace, and Wrangler shirt, Alexander Wang Diego bag, Topshop boots.

I had a strange urge to wear this dress to Sunday lunch, so decided to bring out its casual side with the softest cotton piece I own. Between the dress’ giving stretch, and the shirt’s light fabric, this was an unexpected, comfortable choice.

Our usual Sunday session was injected with unforeseen company, so lunch turned into drinks, which led to hanging out until close. The dog is still exhausted from all the excitement.

Asos dress, Shaun Leane necklace, Rolex watch, H&M bracelets, Christopher Kane for Topshop bag, Topshop boots.

Dinner parties can often be the definition of awkward. You strive for a seating arrangement which triggers steady conversation, desperately sway from controversial topics, hope your friends get along or can at least manage civil, and the splitting of the bill in a group of 20 can end in serious confusion. The boy and I generally dodge these situations, but last night we attended a glamorous dinner for a lovely birthday girl, and are happy to report a seamless, smile filled experience. Maybe the hiccups aren’t noticed unless you are host, but it is always a good night when our heads hit the pillow just in time for sunrise.

I have always been partial to the Chanel logo. Maybe it’s because it also symbolizes my initials. That’s one thing Coco Chanel and I have in common 🙂

Happy Friday!!
I’m off to a birthday party in my new Asos dress. Will share pics tomorrow.
xoxo

DVF dress, H&M men’s hat, Ashish for Topshop wedges, vintage bangle, Rolex watch.

Yesterday was spent wandering, with my blue haired friend, out of my usual neighborhood. After a surprisingly speedy tube journey east, most of our day was devoted to perusing through Bricklane’s vintage boutiques. The experience was highlighted by an impromptu visit to the lovely Georgia Hardinge’s studio. Not only was she sweet and welcoming, but her A/W 2010 collection was awe-inspiring. I tried on several lust worthy pieces, and can definitely vouch that she is one of the most talented young designers out there. Her collection manages to be a successful combination of flirty, intricate, powerful, and feminine. Can’t wait to share my favourite pieces after London Fashion Week!

Zara faux fur vest, blouse from Portobello Market, vintage skirt, Topshop boots.

Tuesdays always include ridiculously enjoyable evenings. After a work day which consistently leaves the boy lifeless, yet excited, and a killer gym session for me, we participate in a weekly standing date. I gorge on salad, fries, and cocktails, while the boy samples several varieties of wine. The boy shares his day’s successes, while I jabber about my random activities. The night generally concludes with a run home, and our very own late night, music video jam session.
I heart Tuesdays.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner so you may want to give the boys a slight push in the right direction 😉

Patricia Nicolas, a Spanish jewelry designer based in London, has one of the most intricate, unique, and stylish collections I have seen in awhile. Her designs are incredibly feminine, but also hold a slight quirkiness.

You can purchase at Harvey Nichols, Harrods, Yoox, or directly from her website.

And don’t forget to check out her fun and stylish fashion blog.

Topshop jacket and dress, New Look boots, clutch from Hong Kong.

Yesterday, in midst of torrential downpour, the boy and I skipped out of town for an unexpectedly enjoyable Saturday night. After taking part in a ridiculously belated Christmas dinner, gorging on too much pear crumble, and making our way through a generous amount of wine, the boy and I headed out sans company for a taster session of Brighton’s nightlife. The experience was very wet, stupidly spontaneous, and littered with plenty of cocktails and laughter. Next time we will remember an umbrella.

Zara dress and vest, H&M hat, Ashish for Topshop wedges, H&M and vintage bangles, Gucci aviators.

Perception is incredibly deceptive. I giggled the other night when the boy’s childhood friend described us as “responsible adults with perfect, settled lives.” In my opinion responsibility falls very low on a list of adjectives I would utilize to describe our lifestyle. I sleep until noon, party incessantly, travel on a whim, reside in a heap of mess, and am far too impatient to sit through a formal dinner party that doesn’t include floods of wine. Some believe because we have officially committed our relationship on paper and are financially stable, our lives are set, but the future is never fixed. Economies shift, preferences change, and ambition can grow. I don’t conclude that if I am happy at present, I will always remain in a similar state. We can start with wealth and end in rags. You could be hopeless now, and climb to a successful state. My father was a waiter when I was born, and today he is one of the most lucrative businessmen I know. Life is a puzzle of choices, luck, and opportunity. We hit each of these elements constantly, and it is through every bend that our path is decided.

Zara blazer, Urban Outfitters tee, Topshop faux leather leggings, H&M bracelets, Rolex watch, New Look patent leather boots, and clutch from Hong Kong.

Last night, after the enthusiastic realization our streets were finally ice free, I slipped on my usual beach tee in hopes of willing the weather Gods to remain on a snow free path. My efforts were worthless and futile, seeing as there is currently a mini-blizzard taking place outside my front door. I admit defeat and will wear Uggs for our drink date tonight. Or maybe not…The Mayfair Hotel and Nobu may be offended.

H&M top, vest from random Hong Kong boutique, Chloe Paddington, Rolex watch, Kabiri bracelets, New Look boots.

I discovered this top in the depths of my wardrobe, and reunited happily with the sheer, flowing chiffon, and romantic shimmering accents. To say I’m excited about the insurgence of ruffles, silk, and florals littering S/S 2010’s catwalks is an understatement. I have always been a “girly girl” at heart, swaying towards all that was pretty and delicate. From a young age I despised trousers and tomboy looks, constantly dodging the practical efforts of my mother, who thought it may be easier to have a daughter who didn’t constantly prefer tulle over denim. In my teens I consistently swayed towards pink, and grew a premature fixation with make-up. My sports skills are useless at best, and I thoroughly enjoy primping for a big night out. Although I find hardware, ankle boots, and leather incredibly enticing, it’s always fun to add a feminine touch. I can’t wait to be twirling in the sunlight, with tan, bare legs, swathed in the softest white lace dress.
In my opinion, girls have it best.
