Underground dress, heels from boutique in Hong Kong, Alexander Wang Diego bag, Rolex watch, Georg Jensen and vintage necklaces.

We were welcomed back to London with abrasive rain and wind, a malfunctioning airport bus, and a mass of annoying mandatory errands. The luxury of bed and home was allowed far too late, causing the boy and I to fall into slumber within the hour of return. I fully intend on pausing life, and remaining safely under stacks of blankets until London Fashion Week takes over. Only two days, but I’ll accept anything at this point.
During a visit to a new I.T. store in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, my brother and I went on a slight Underground shopping spree. Their men’s and women’s collections are accessible, affordable, and trendy with the perfect edge. My favourite was this exceedingly comfortable hooded dress, which carried me easily from day to night.

Alexander Wang dress worn over Oasis dress, parka from Japanese boutique, shoes from Hong Kong boutique.

My family brought in the Year of the Tiger with a festive family reunion. I unfortunately miss this celebration every year, due to schedule conflicts, and extortionate flight prices, but this year our trip to Japan fell so close to the date, we had to stay and join the fun.
We filled every table with fragrant, mouthwatering Chinese cuisine, graciously received cash filled red envelopes, gambled incessantly, and ate traditional dumplings at midnight to guarantee a prosperous year. Everyone, including our staff, joined in the party spirit, and the universal phrase ,”bottoms up,” rang from all corners of the room. I fell into an exhausted slumber in the early am, lulled by the sound of popping fire crackers, and clicking mahjong tiles.

Topshop dress and boots, H&M bracelets and Rolex watch.

Hong Kong’s skyline is captivating from various angles, and the breathtaking option offered at Sevva‘s large terrace secures this venue as my favourite bar in the city.

The buzzing city seems to have slowed to a lull due to Chinese New Year. The usual crowds have diminished, and escaped to family reunions, leaving exclusive restaurants and bars to us as our own personal playground. One last night of peaceful nightlife before we participate in our own unruly family celebration.

RIP Alexander Mcqueen.

Topshop silk blazer, AA sexualitee, New Look boots, headband from boutique in Tokyo.

I have finally emerged from the forest of seclusion to kick off Chinese New Year weekend. Offices are closed, the streets are dominated by red and gold banners, and the smell of singed paper soaks the air. Everyone is taking time off work to join the festivities, so we’re diving in head first with a raucous night out in Hong Kong. I have missed ice cold Grey Goose, and carefree dancing until the early hours.

Chloe jacket, AA tank, Zara leather shorts, Georg Jensen pendant and vintage necklaces,Topshop over knee socks and boots.

After a week of incessant flying, sashimi overload, serious arctic temperatures, and a plethora of excitement, we decided upon a mandatory relaxation period before Chinese New Year celebrations commence. Time has been idly consumed by Lost Season 5, surviving on room service, snuggling new born puppies, absorbing the sound of torrential rain, and laughing with family. Tomorrow we will emerge from country club seclusion, and return to Hong Kong’s buzzing city lights. The sun has returned just in time.

Parka from Japanese boutique, vintage skirt, RVCA top, H&M necklace, vintage Wrangler boots.

Tokyo has officially exceeded all expectations. Our arrival was littered with luck, and we managed to acquire a spacious, upgraded room, with a panoramic view of Shinjuku. Our senses have been spoilt through a kaleidoscope of awe inspiring city lights, Shibuya’s massive selection of minuscule, kawaii shops, encounters with extremely sweet and friendly locals, street corners drenched with the smell of mouth watering miso ramen, and sampling the infamous Japanese blowfish for the very first time.
I can easily count 10 parkas within my viewpoint at all times here in Tokyo, so my craving for my very own had to be satisfied. Their selection is wide and varied, but I settled upon this soft light shape, with a fleece lining which will carry me through Winter, and can easily be removed come Spring.

I’m so excited to explore Harajuku and Ginza today! If you guys have any shopping or dining recommendations please share! 🙂

Zara vest, Topshop boots, hat, and shorts, chain top from Hong Kong boutique.

The past few days have been spent in the picturesque ski resort, Niseko. Time has been leisurely passed through clumsy attempts at skiing, gorging on fresh seafood, relaxing fireside, and admiring breathtaking views. To my surprise, I’m actually enjoying early bedtimes and witnessing the slow sunrise over Mt Yotei. I feel a sense of serenity, when surrounded by such silent beauty.

Topshop dress, Versace leather jacket, Alexander Wang bag, H&M knitted headband, Kabiri bangle, and Rolex watch.

After a month at home, we have returned to Hong Kong, one of my absolute favourite cities. Each time our plane commences its descent over the shimmering night lights, my heartbeat can’t help but quicken. I adore each unique and welcoming element about this city. The streets are constantly alight, and soaked with the lingering scent of fragrant spice. The people are consistently friendly, helpful, and always welcoming. Distinct British influences are prominent, and add a characteristic twist of east meets west culture. Eating is a constant occurrence in this city where streetside eateries permeate the most alluring aromas, and food is offered in great variety. The feeling of safety plays an omniscient presence, and regardless of the hour, food and play are available in abundance. At the moment, the late winter weather is warm, vacant of humidity, with a refreshing light breeze, creating the ideal condition to browse and explore. I feel so fortunate this is my second home, and the boy and I are adamant about relocating here in a few years.

All of us living in arctic winter temperatures are likely lusting after Spring, sun, and warmth.
Caycee Black’s feminine, and striking S/S 2010 collection managed to push the craving to a whole new level. I was immediately drawn to her beautifully tailored pieces, which communicate a sophistication, while still evoking the playful, light air of Spring. Just viewing this lookbook makes me yearn for the scent of fresh cut grass, and a taste of sweetly tart lemonade.

Check out her website here.
