I have been slightly absent in the blogging world since returning home, but being passionately attached to an oversized maxi, shapeless t-shirt, and the boy’s hoodie does not make for exciting outfit posts. The fact that I misplaced most of my make-up collection, and our beloved camera in Mykonos does not help the situation. Luckily the elusive sun forced me out of bed this afternoon, so I took the opportunity to actually get dressed and enjoy a dose of fresh air. Contemplating unpacking and reorganizing my wardrobe tomorrow…always an efficient way to jump start inspiration.

So sad to be leaving tomorrow…but the we are already booking our next holiday here in July. I am seriously going to miss the millions of narrow cobblestone streets, spotting friendly stray cats at every corner, lounging beachside with cocktails and chill out beats, meeting insanely welcoming staff and travellers, mouth watering seafood and gyros, waking to a breathtaking view, and speeding around the entire island on a quad bike with the boy. As a large farewell to our holiday, we will be partying at Cavo Paradiso’s opening night…and then a reluctant return to reality.

We spent the day at the bohemian beach bar of my dreams . I have always longed to lounge on giant bean bags dipped in the sand accompanied by Greek beer, sweet mojitos, and amusing company. The scenic ride perched on the back of a quad bike was an added bonus. Mykonos is currently winning as my favourite beach destination.

I love the energized excitement which engulfs the day before you depart on vacation. My usual activities include speeding around town, purchasing a plenitude of colorful accessories and miniature toiletries, haphazard packing throughout the day, and a failed attempt at eating and emptying the random contents of our fridge. The boy and I have never been to the beautiful Greek isle, Mykonos, but we are eager to explore and soak in as much sun as possible. I will try to post while we are away!
