Australian accessories label, Mimco, have recently launched their new decadent collection inspired by the intriquing life of a dark debutante from the 18th century.  Each luxurious, elegant piece holds its own charming twist, representing the secret double life of the Victorian mistress.  I was lucky enough to recieve this beautifully made, corset inspired handbag from the lovely people at Mimco.  To capture your own slice of the darkly glamourous collection check out their newly launched UK website, www.mimco.co.uk, or their store at Westfield London.

Check out the video below to view the other amazing pieces and the influence behind the line!

Topshop hat, Pull and Bear denim jacket, Zara leather shorts, Mango boots, Low Luv necklace from My-Wardrobe, and Dior corset bag.

Just a quick hello before proceeding with my annoyingly busy day.  I was oh so tempted to ignore it all and sleep, but that would be a little irresponsible…even for me.  Already anticipating a night in, hot chocolate, and the new episode of Gossip Girl!  Laterss!

Zara  poncho worn over AA dress, Mango boots, H&M necklace, Dior corset bag.

Yesterday was as close as you get to the perfect Monday.  With open schedules and content moods, the boy and I ignored an ominous tube strike and cabbed it to Oxford Circus for a dose of retail therapy.  Four hours passed in an instant and before we we realized, the sky had shifted to a deep blue and our tired arms were burdened with hefty bags.  Our tired feet led us to the nearest happy hour establishment, where we planted ourselves for the next hour while deciding where to satisfy our rumbling appetites.  Two margaritas and three blocks later we found the ideal French bistro which served a fillet steak of my dreams.  The night ended with several martinis at The Light Bar and a long desperate search for a taxi home.  I enjoy nothing more than waking the next morning hangoverless and surrounded by lustworthy purchases.  Will share later 😉

Asos dress, Mango boots, Topshop jacket, and scarf from boutique in Hong Kong.
Rings: (On left) red ring courtesy of Shop Dixi and black vintage ring.  (On right) both Asos.

A variation on what I wore last night.  Our date was bombarded by constant rain, making it impossible to linger outdoors let alone capture a pic of my new lace dress.  So when the sun decided to make a slight appearance this afternoon, the boy and I rushed to snap the moment before the sky darkened yet again.

The red ring I’m wearing is from Shop Dixi, who have an amazing selection of new and vintage items at seriously affordable prices.  Think whimsical dresses, playful knitwear, fur headbands, stone rings, sheer blouses and the most amazing faux fur leopard coat for less than £40!

The collection I patiently await every season.  I can always rely on Christophe Decarnin to create the nonchalant luxe looks of my dreams.  Studs galore, distressed denim, minute shorts, second skin leather and velvet, slashed tees, and an effortless, too cool vibe to pull it all together.  Clothes that appear sexy, dishevelled, fun, and weirdly comfortable all at the same time.  What I’m scouting on a daily basis.  Balmania continues…at least for me!

Topshop Boutique dress worn as top, Topshop shorts and headband, Zara vest, vintage Wrangler boots.
Checking off a list full of errands in the span of an hour requires a comfortable outfit such as the one above.  For some insane reason the boy habitually misplaces his tuxedo immediately after use, which always results in a mad dash around town the day of a black tie event.  The fact that we are both easily distracted, never organized, and extreme procrastinators does not assist the situation.  In case you were wondering Zara and Reiss can solve most male formal attire issues within an hour, and have managed to rescue the boy yet again.  I now have 30 minutes to look presentable and cab it to the Dorchester.  Later loverrrs!

Dress courtesy of Urban 1972, Accessorize tights, Topshop beanie, Reiss belt, and heels from boutique in Hong Kong.

compiling lists of necessary autumn purchases, disorganized planning for a big move, enjoying daily brunches and a late morning chill, strong black coffee and piles of magazines, evening gym sessions after a long nap, international phone calls and last minute flight bookings, extreme late nights and unusual energy…a routine I fall into when anticipating another eventful month.
