Camping in an office is the only appropriate way to describe our former living conditions.  The boy and I had plenty of space and resources to play with, but laziness always overtook and it was easier to set up in a huge bed and stay weirdly content in that element.   Once news of the imminent arrival of our little girl hit, motivation peaked and we have completely rearranged our entire home one room at a time.  The biggest changes have taken place where our little family will spend most of our time, but the first step was to let go of our hoarding habits and donate 80% of what was stacking up in every corner available.   We have lived in more than our fair share of flats in together and have been happiest in the open plan studio type, over several bedrooms in a house.  Our tendency is to have all we need in once space, including each other and staying happily there whether working or playing for the majority of our day.   I’ve now been browsing inspiring flat images to add a little more personality to our little home.   Going down the flimsy, messy yet stylish route is much more me than the boy, but a clean and ultra modern design in not conceivable with what we have, so I guess I win.  I’m now wishing I had Portobello Market at my fingertips and all of America’s treasure chest vintage shops, but we’ll make it work with unique fabric scraps and getting a local carpenter to build a few customised pieces.  No rush, we’ll get there in the end.

 C. by Christing C. Dress, Choies Cardigan, Chanel Flats.

My mood is getting lazier by day.  The last month of pregnancy is in full swing and all I crave are naps and chocolate.  It’s extremely tempting to sleep all day, and I usually give in to the unproductive urge.  It’s one of those life moments when you convince yourself you deserve all the indulgences you are allowed, and I am very lucky the boy spends most of his days trying to meet these indulgences.   Outfits are becoming repetitive, and I’m thankful for my little collection of flowy dresses that are carrying through these precarious few weeks.  Today felt like Spring and just in time.   Hopefully the baby will arrive on a beautiful sunny day and love blue skies and fresh flowers just like I do.

Asos Boots and Topshop HK hat.
I have found it difficult to be a “show off that belly” mummy to be throughout my pregnancy.  All of my respect to those who aren’t afraid to flaunt the bump, but with swollen legs and more weight than I’m comfortable carrying, I’m more in the mood to hide behind a-line shapes and layers.  My new oversize biker provides adequate camouflage and keeps me feeling like myself despite slight insecurities.  I happily created it in a rosy pink to match my cheery current mood and play along with S/S14’s love affair with pastels.   Can’t wait to be back in my denim shorts and pairing this with a plain white tank and cut offs this summer.

Scrawling through endless images in the early am while the boy snoozes and our humble television hums in the background.  I’m finding sleepless nights second nature, spending hours in awe over the little girl tossing in my tummy and revelling in moments of silence knowing this may be a thing of the past in a few weeks time.  Pregnancy is not something I ever imagine missing, but a fulfilling experience I won’t forget.  The growing love for someone I know so little about is overwhelmingly pure and refreshing.   My thoughts focus easily and conventional problems seem so trivial in a life where you are preparing for the arrival of someone that is one portion you and one portion the person you care about most.  In a busy city it’s easy to find yourself lost in crammed schedules, petty gossip, ambition turned to envy, and everything in between.  Somehow it feels this has been wiped clean.  I’m more content than ever, cuddled with the boy, mapping out this year and many more to come.   Only 5 weeks to go.  Not long now.

Wearing C. by Christing C. and Carin Wester backpack.

It’s been a whirlwind shopping spree and cozy evenings snuggled on the couch type of weekend.  I’m escaping the drizzling outdoors as much as possible and maybe indulging in too much fast food due to pure laziness.   Rearranging our place into a comfortable space has confined us even more than usual.  Nesting has come into full force and we are in accelerated preparation mode for the little one.  I most definitely have goals of getting off my lazy behind once the Monday sun comes into existence.

Playboy turns sixty this year and Lane Crawford are celebrating with lots of fun at Lane Crawford Blitz.  I played around with my cute set of bunny ears pre-event and prepped to catch up with a few of my favourite girls.   Check out Instagram to see all the fun!

Some stuff I’m kinda falling in love with.  Been stalking the shows via social media and the ever useful style.com app. I’m always drawn to the pieces I would want to wear today. Things that immediately integrate into my everyday life.   Fashion shows stir cravings in travel and fancy parties, summers surrounded by sea and ancient architecture, and layering in the snow.  Hmmmm.

Wearing Superga HK flatforms

A favourite default outfit at the moment.  Easy, comfy, with just enough style to not look sloppy.  I’m very in love with these Superga flatforms.  They kinda remind me of a shoe I was attached to in my teenage years and give me height without the stress of teetering on an infamous 6 inch stilt.  I almost feel bouncy when strolling the streets in them.  My must have shoe for this spring and summer.   I’ll be wearing mine with floaty dresses, denim cutoffs, and sporty oversize tees.

The Sweet Mommy Parka is a perfect rainy day piece.  Looking for jackets that zip up over a burgeoning bump can be an impossible and unflattering task, but this coat is slimming, on trend, and best of all wearable after the baby arrives.  Check out the website to see the detachable baby pouch which can be worn on the front or back. So many uses in just one piece.

Wearing these leggings and super soft tee makes me believe you can stay true to your style and show off that bump.  Both pieces are so comfy, bump friendly, and easy to mix and match with your existing wardrobe.  The tee is also a nursing tee, so perfect for post pregnancy months.   Definitely a one of my favourite preggers looks.

I’m not usually a demure dress type of girl but have been a little more self conscious about my body as I reach the end of my third trimester.  I wanted to try something that wasn’t my usual mini length, and bump accentuating rather than camouflaging.  This dress is made from a ridiculously comfortable stretch jersey, and features a belted waist to give the perfect shape.  It works for dressy events, but is easy to lounge around in as well.  I toughened up the girly style with a leather jacket and felt instantly ready for date night.

I’m edging into the end of my third trimester and have pretty much avoided maternity wear until this point.  Aside from a pair of leggings and tights I have managed to stay in my floaty dresses and wearing shorts just under that bump, but these solutions are starting to look a little futile as we reach pass week 31.  Last week I went to check out Mayarya in Sheung Wan to check out their bump friendly collection and pick out a few outfits that are both stylish but comfortable for a mommy to be.

I loved their fashionable and varied collection incorporating work wear, trendy separates, resort pieces, and even a few event ready dresses.   They also have an alluring selection of maternity, nursing bras, swimwear, and stretch mark avoiding skin care products.  My favourite part was many of their pieces are very wearable after pregnancy, so you aren’t wasting funds on something you will only deign to look at for a few months.   Top picks include the faux leather leggings, pocket tees that are bump and nursing friendly, trendy diaper bag backpack, and comfy yet cute stretch lace nursing bras.  A great shop for those who are skeptical about maternity wear and aren’t willing to give up their fashion flair. They also offer a VIP pick up service to and from the store and incredibly friendly and helpful staff to ensure your shopping experience is an enjoyable and relaxing one.  A definite must visit if you are expecting.

Dinner date outfit with the boy.   Evenings out are kinda unappealing to me at the moment unless they involve the boy, candles, and delicious food.  We are currently keeping busy with a vigorous redecorating project . This basically means clearing out our flat one room at time and refilling it with prettier items. I am shocked how a space can be so much bigger with just a little rearranging.  There have been a few meltdowns amongst Ikea crowds and bickering over the position of a footrest, but we slept like babies in our hard earned new bedroom last night.
