Just before Christmas I was contacted by the amazing people over at Fashionair to record my very own 7 Days of Chic. Saturdays in Brighton happen about once a month and are as entertaining as they are predictable. The night launches with a mandatory dinner at Pascal Brasserie before congregating with the boy’s childhood friends for a full on reunion. Cocktails are consistently refilled, rounds of shots are ordered every 20 minutes, and everyone departs when they have lost the ability to stand. The boy and I crash at his Mother’s, and habitually ravage her brimming fridge in a drunken, famished haze. We are so drained after the Sunday drive home the only possible conclusion is to cuddle up with movies and food until Monday rolls around. Today’s menu will be a Thai feast, Tropic Thunder, and a few episodes of True Blood.

I am seriously infatuated with Galliano’s collection for Dior this season. Not only did I love the decadent equestrian theme and Gothic Victorian hair and make-up, but I have definitely grown a soft spot for thigh high boots, and over the knee, ruffle trim socks. My favourite pieces have to be the sweeping, sheer embellished dresses. I think maxi may be the way to go come holiday party season.

After a chain of nights out and random sleeping hours, I have decided to take a mini time-out. This usually means remaining make-up and hair product free, two nights of generous home cooked meals, drinking green tea by the gallon, and walking around my local area disguised by a plenitude of accessories. So until Saturday, this outfit will most likely be uniform.

Tuesday night seemed like a suitable time to dress down my new sequin top, and dine at our favourite Italian restaurant outside of Italy. The moment you step into Osteria Basilico, your mouth begins to water. Every dish manages to be delicious, and the choice is endless. That alongside an authentic rustic feel, and romantic lighting makes for an ideal setting for date night. Last night’s spread included fresh tuna carpaccio, seafood friture, osso bucco, and rosemary bread. The boy and I devoured every last morsel, before sampling their famous tiramisu. After our tummies refused to take one more bite, we hopped across the street for cocktails with the hospitable bartenders at E&O. We stumbled home at closing giddy, and full from the amusing night.

I promise to break out of this black and white mode tonight. New items have been purchased, stacks of magazines have been inhaled, and the temperatures have risen maybe 2 degrees. There is hope my life will not be permanently monochrome.
