Today is the epitome of hungover, exhausted, and starving. The boy assumed the shorts and tank were the same I had worn to bed. Still managed Sunday lunch though…not sure how. Will be participating in plenty of relaxation this week.

the only cure

After “part one” of the boy’s birthday weekend, we awoke this morning at an uncharacteristically early hour and actually managed to be productive. After noticing the welcoming sunlight, and our ravenous hangovers we sped out to the nearest supermarket to stock up on carbs and hydrating beverages. We decided Holland Park would be the ideal location to nurse our rumbling stomachs and throbbing heads, so with the dog in tow, we headed over to find the ideal shady picnic ground. Aside from a dramatic encounter with two greedy hornets, the experience was a great success. We even found time to explore Holland Park’s stunning Kyoto Garden, spotted several peacocks, and witnessed the dog become fast friends with a curious squirrel.

Birthday Party “part two” commences tonight!

The boy decided to freeze his hardcore work mood, and take the opportunity to indulge in London’s elusive sun. We headed to Hyde Park with the dog and plenty of food, and spent the afternoon basking in complete laziness. The park proved to be the perfect lunchtime spot, if you ignore the odd questionable man in minuscule “swimwear.” After a deep nap, snack induced tummy aches, and a slight allergy attack, we decided return to the sanctuary of our own bed. Resting up for the boy’s birthday weekend. Let the debauchery commence 😉

Waking to the return of summer was a minor bonus in a busy, but perfect day. I enjoy nothing more than catching up with old friends, reminiscing about the boy and my dating past, browsing through an array of shops, and sipping delectable cocktails at Harvey Nichols’ fifth floor bar. Now prepping for a quiet dinner with the boy, and a relaxing Thursday before the weekend commences.

contemplating a spring clean for our haphazard flat, ice cold wine at the local bar, candlelit conversations in the early am, running through sudden torrential rain, bbq chicken and mozzarella salad, losing and finding everything, sunday lunch upon a sunny yet windy terrace, circulating ridiculously packed pubs, and quiet moments with the boy.

i always save a piece for you

I adore nights where the buzzing atmosphere is immediately evident as soon as your foot hits the front step. Long weekends generally exude an air of excitement, but last night the warm evening and summer anticipation accelerated the mood to the next level. We departed our flat just in time to catch a peaceful sunset, and weave our way to Electric Brasserie for our first dining excursion this week. The clientele ranged from tired students to the bohemian dweller who just awoke, but everyone merged seamlessly into the buoyant scene. Laughter poured profusely onto every crowded sidewalk, and the relaxed ambiance remained after floods of wine and cocktails were consumed. I am slightly disappointed about the greyness of today, but am looking forward to a packed weekend 😉
