Perched high above the dramatic limestone cliffs of Ungasan, the resort enjoys sweeping views across the Indian Ocean while offering a peaceful escape just a short drive from some of the Bukit Peninsula’s most beautiful beaches and surf breaks.
During our stay, we checked into one of the spacious Family Pool Villas, which quickly became our own private sanctuary. The villa offered generous indoor and outdoor living spaces, a large infinity pool, and plenty of room for our family to relax without ever feeling confined. Every detail felt thoughtfully designed, combining contemporary elegance with Balinese touches that reflected the island’s rich culture.
One of the highlights of our stay was spending time at Uma Beach House, the resort’s private beach club on Melasti Beach. With its crystal clear water, relaxed atmosphere, excellent food and comfortable daybeds, it became one of our favourite places to spend long afternoons by the ocean.
The experiences extended well beyond the villa. We loved joining the family friendly Balinese cooking class where we learned to prepare traditional favourites including sambal and sate lilit together. It was a wonderful way for the children to experience local culture through food and one of those travel memories we know they will remember long after the holiday.
Dining throughout the resort was consistently excellent. From generous breakfasts to elegant Indonesian dinners at Commune, every meal showcased fresh local ingredients while remaining approachable for families travelling with children.
When it was time to unwind, the resort’s spa provided a welcome moment of calm with beautifully designed treatment rooms and deeply restorative therapies. We also appreciated the impressive fitness centre, making it easy to fit in a workout before heading out to explore Bali each day.
What truly elevated our stay, however, was the service. Every member of the team greeted us warmly, remembered our children’s names, and anticipated the small details that transform a wonderful hotel into an unforgettable one. Umana Bali delivers luxury without feeling formal, creating an atmosphere where families feel genuinely welcomed while enjoying one of Bali’s most beautiful cliffside settings.
