H&M hat, T-shirt c/o Forever 21, boots c/o Steve Madden.
There are weekends when you surround yourself with insatiable company, enough tequila shots to drown a club, and bundles of forgotten moments, and there are times you crave a quiet moment.  It was nice to escape with the boy and locate a sliver of sunshine on Lamma Island.  We wandered down overgrown paths and trekked about exploring until incessant mosquitoes challenged our sanity.  The night ended with a long beer fuelled, seafood fest and a dark city lit yacht ride to shore.  Finding more ways to escape the constant full force attitude that drives this city.  It’s the small time out that makes you love everything else.

I joined a few of my favourite HK bloggers (hi JJ and Denise!) to style a few pieces from Lee Jeans’ new White Label collection.   The pieces were very classic with a fun twist, and perfect for mixing and matching this summer.  I went for two simple pieces and put a grunge aesthetic to the mix.  I’m love the slight ombre in the shirt and grey seems to always be my colour of choice when it comes to skinny denim.  Go check out the collection in Lee Stores now.

One Teaspoon top.  Stolen Girlfriends Club skirt coming soon to Christing C.

Long weekends always sneak up and surprise me at the most unexpected times.  I guess being self employed means calendars mean nothing more than a long list of meetings, parties, and dates.  Is it really the boy’s bday soon?   We never plan more than two weeks in advance and ignore deadlines until the absolute last minute.  I wonder if we’ll ever grow out of this frivolous habit.  Hope not.

Cameo jacket and shorts
Sandals c/o Steve Madden

Mixing prints is definitely a fun pastime of mine, but matching prints is equally exciting.  I was instantly drawn to this cute print set designed by Tale and Pernille, the Norwegian duo behind Cameo.  The fact that the jacket was a bomber made my instant liking even more evident.  I paired it with nothing but barely there sandals and a tan I acquired during the few sunny hours we experienced this weekend.

Cameo’s collection emulates 1970’s inspiration, but with a distinct contemporary twist.  Seriously on trend, integrating silk fabrics and bright prints perfect for summer picnics and cocktails on your favourite terrace.  I couldn’t get over the silk bombers, sheer blouses, and brightly printed dresses.  Polkadot Boutique have launched Cameo at their boutique this May.  Go check it out along with many other local and international designers they have on offer.

Carin Wester Romy Blazer from Christing C., H&M mesh tank, One Teaspoon shorts, Christian Louboutin heels and bag.
Dancing through one big night after the next is taking a toll on my day to day productivity. Lets just say a Monday jammed with tons of food, flowing drinks, and karaoke is probably the most tiring yet fun way to begin a week. Nursing a hangover this evening and getting ready to depart for Macau in the morning. Oolong tea and random blockbuster movies are really making my night. More tomorrow.

Mara Hoffman Cardigan and Stolen Girlfriends Club shirt from Christing C.
Moussy top, Toms shoes c/o Lane Crawford, Celine sunglasses.

Throw all your favourite stuff together and wear it out.   I’ve been wearing a variation of this outfit all week, basically due to comfort and the random HK weather which is a little hot and cold at the moment.  I decided to throw on my Bliss Lau collar over the top to add a little bit of luxe to an altogether sloppy look.  I love this piece which you can wear in four different ways and is perfect for random layering.  Off to enjoy the non-rainy weather and share a bottle of wine with the boy.

Stolen Girlfriends Club Camo Snakes T-shirt dress coming soon to Christing C.,  boots c/o Asos, One Teaspoon belt.

It’s been so wet everyday in HK lately, so when I spotted a gigantic, ominous cloud while gymming I decided an oversized tee and ankle boots would be a safe bet for a stormy Tues night. I can’t believe May has rolled around so quickly. Lets hope the weather perks up so we can welcome Summer to the city. The boy and I have been in bed all day plotting imminent travels and trips. Can’t wait for a plane packed few months.

Wearing Bec&Bridge top coming soon to Christing C., Mischa clutch, H&M hat, vintage DIY denim skirt, Asos boots.

Restaurant: Brickhouse.  G/F, 20A D’Aguilar Street via Brick Lane.  www.brickhouse.com.hk

Wore this to sample the new menu at Brickhouse earlier this week.  I am obsessed with Mexican food and Brickhouse is one of the only spots in HK that does it well.  I think I may be equally enticed by the ultra cool atmosphere as much as the yummy dishes.  The boy and I obsessed over the array of cocktails, watermelon salad, and good mood inducing music creating just the right vibe after a strenuous Tuesday.  This week seems to be lasting forever.  Can’t wait for the weekend.  I think I may spend the majority of it in bed.

I’m always on the prowl for new skin and hair products to add to my collection.  I obsessivly moisturize and condition my hair so anything to fuel my ongoing daily routine is a welcome addition.  Here a few new products I’m currently obsessing over.
1. Redken Diamond Oil conditioner and shampoo.  I got these during MBFWA and have been using it since.  Perfect for my dry, coloured hair.  Truth be told I like my hair a bit dry as it’s easier to style.  My hair is naturally super shiny and thick, but I prefer it coloured and dry so it can hold waves.  This stuff keeps my hair soft, but still leaves enough texture for styling.

2.  The Body Shop Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream.  Super moisturizing and feels really natural.  A simple cream that doesn’t promise a million amazing anti-ageing benefits but doesn’t irritate or bother my skin while keeping it baby soft.

3. Christophe Robin Masque Regenerent.  I like to use a deep conditioning mask once a week and this one is really thick and luxurious.  It is perfect after swimming or days at the beach.  Ideal if you feel like pampering your locks.  I sit around on days off with a face mask and this in my hair.

4.  Rachel K Blemish Balm or Schrammek’s BB cream.  I don’t use foundation so BB Creams are my go-to for evening out any imperfections.  I usually use it under my eyes and around my nose.  It’s perfect for glowing skin without the heavy feeling of foundation on your face.  Especially with HK’s insane humidity, I love using BB creams which are actually good for your skin over make-up.

5.  MAC Lip Conditioner.  I have several tubes of this stashed in my bags, beside my bed, and in random coat pockets.  It works great with lip gloss, over lipstick, or just on its own.  Goes on really smooth and keeps my lips hydrated at all times.

6.  Original Mineral No Knott.  My hair is very long and gets tangled easily so this stuff is an absolute necessity.  It contains Macadamia Oil and Argan Oil two of my top ingredients for hair products.  I spray it into my hair before blow drying and also to freshen up my hair throughout the day.  At night I spray it into my dry hair and twist it up into a bun so I wake with perfectly wavy hair.  It smells amazing too.

7.  Chanel Coco Noir.  I don’t ever think of using any other perfume.
