Being un-apologetically bohemian is built into my blood. Not only is it set as an infrastructure for my style but I lie and live in the entire mood. Each fake schedule I create flees from discipline, while rolling around in a jasmine scented bed is my idea of heaven. Wine remains a staple in our daily diet, and alarms have become a slight joke. I’m pretty sure real life never actually existed. I revel in ethereal dreams and know the impossible is possible. An unrealistic life is often the best kind.

Layering just happens to be one of my favourite hobbies, but can be near impossible in HK’s sweltering humidity and heat. This is why the kimono top can often be a summer wardrobe’s best friend. Light, airy, and gives that just fell out of bed bohemian vibe. A definite staple in my yearly looks, which is why Bubble Mood’s version from Mode in Asia caught my attention immediately. I love the nod to nautical stripes and swishy jersey fabric. I paired it with the sweetest skirt I own, but was pretty tempted to throw it over a white tee and denim for an always relevant formula.

It isn’t easy to become fully absorbed by another person. To feel life isn’t quite real without their presence. Your paths entwine into a single narrow road where dreams and goals create a visible future. It’s easy to live without this dependency if you haven’t felt that click, but once it hits you that path is the only direction in sight. Sometimes I feel my entire world lies on this gigantic bed, and if everything fell away we would barely notice. Years pass, we change, friends appear just to disappear, but each night its easy to feel safe. We could be anywhere at any hour, but with you it’s easy to call that place home.

This week has been all about catching up with work and friends. Packing up our July with most likely far more than we can handle and planning exciting trips to amuse ourselves for the rest of the year. Luckily the weather spirits decided to award us with a sunny weekend, so the boy and I have been taking full advantage of HK’s stunning vistas and abundant water activities. It’s Fourth of July weekend and despite the fact that there’s minimal celebrations going on in this city, the weather is embracing sun, blue skies, and lighthearted moods. The boy and I are celebrating with plenty of yacht time, creating sangria recipes, grilling fresh seafood, and staying out of the shade as much as possible.
