During our stay we chose a suite, which gave us plenty of room to unwind after long days in the sun. The layout felt comfortable for a family, and it was nice having a space that allowed everyone to spread out without feeling cramped. The resort itself is large and beautifully maintained with gardens, wide pathways, and areas that feel open and inviting.

The pool area quickly became one of our favourite parts of the resort. It is enormous and perfect for families, with waterslides that kept the kids completely excited from morning until late afternoon. The beach is just a few steps beyond the pool and is calm, clean, and ideal for children. We spent many easy afternoons watching the kids splash at the shoreline while we relaxed on the sand.

The kids club was another highlight of our stay. Our children loved the obstacle course and the selection of games, and the friendly staff made each visit fun and engaging. It gave them something active and creative to do each day and gave us a little time to unwind knowing they were happily entertained.

One of the biggest advantages of staying at Wyndham Grand Phu Quoc is its location. The resort is incredibly close to VinWonders, VinSafari, and Grand World, and the free shuttle made getting to all three completely effortless. It removed the stress of transportation and made our outings smooth and easy.

New World Phu Quoc Resort was the ideal getaway for our family of four. Set along one of Phu Quoc’s most beautiful stretches of coastline, it blends modern style with a relaxed, family friendly vibe that made our stay feel effortless from beginning to end. We settled into a stunning three bedroom private pool villa, spread over two spacious floors. Each bedroom had boasting its en suite and balcony or terrace, giving everyone a little corner of calm. The soothing design and private pool quickly became our favourite quiet retreat after busy days.

The resort grounds are expansive and perfect for families. The main pool is huge, with plenty of loungers and shaded spaces for relaxing while the kids splash nearby. The beachfront is just as impressive wide, clean, and beautifully calm, ideal for swimming or lazy afternoons under an umbrella. Our little ones were obsessed with the interactive waterpark and spent ages at the kids club, which offers crafts and activities that kept them excited daily.

Dining at the resort was consistently excellent. We loved casual lunches at The Bay Kitchen, beachside bites at Coco Beach House, and relaxed dinners at Lua Grill & Bar. There’s also the lively Starry Nights buffet, complete with live music and fresh seafood, which made for a fun family evening.

When we wanted a break from the sun, the games room, bowling alley, and karaoke kept everyone entertained. And with Sunset Town just a short ride away, we ended our trip with the spectacular Kiss of the Sea show a highlight for all of us.

Stepping into Palais de Chine feels like entering another world, where European grandeur meets heartfelt Taiwanese hospitality. The marble lobby, glittering chandeliers, and museum-worthy art pieces instantly set the tone: refined, welcoming, and quietly luxurious.

Our family loved how the hotel balances elegance with comfort. The rooms, dressed in warm wood tones and soft lighting, felt like a cozy retreat after a day exploring Taipei. The kids couldn’t get enough of the deep soaking tub, while we appreciated the plush bedding and thoughtful touches that made the space feel like home.

A special treat was the Le Salon Executive Lounge, a serene hideaway offering afternoon tea, all-day snacks, and sweeping views of the city. The staff’s genuine warmth made every visit feel personal and relaxed.

Dinner at Ciao by Fratelli Pennisi was another highlight. Between the perfectly grilled T-bone steak and creamy handmade pasta, we found ourselves lingering over dessert, with the Sicilian cannoli quickly becoming a family favorite.

Mornings began with a feast at the breakfast buffet, where Western favorites met Taiwanese classics. Flaky croissants sat beside steaming bowls of congee and handmade dumplings, delighting every palate.

Best of all, the hotel sits right above Taipei Main Station and Q Square mall, making city adventures effortless. Yet once inside, Palais de Chine feels worlds away: peaceful, elegant, and full of heart. It is a beautiful reminder that true luxury lies not just in design but in how warmly you are welcomed home.

We arrived at Amilla Maldives and instantly fell into family holiday mode, the kind that makes you slow down without trying.  The team treated us with the warmest welcome, tropical welcome drinks, a personalized buggy, and of course an overwater lobby featuring captivating Maldives views. Our two bedroom overwater villa with a private pool facing the lagoon felt like a bright, airy home on the water with a separate second bedroom, generous indoor and outdoor living areas and effortless lagoon access for snorkels and swims. The villa layout gave everyone space to be together and to retreat when they needed a minute alone.

For families who love to be active together there is so much on offer. We loved grabbing the personalised bikes and pedaling around the island exploring the verdant island, chasing the kids to the quiet stretches of sand, and kayaking through pristine clear water.  Our favorite experiences included guided tours with the resident marine biologist which included learning about the ecosystem on the island and an educational and captivating snorkel through the house reef.  Both our children came away wide eyed and proud with new knowledge and memories

There is a brilliant balance between play and pampering. The main pool is stylish and sociable and the state of the art indoor and outdoor fitness centers look out to the ocean so workouts never feel like chores. Sports facilities include professional quality tennis courts and a full football pitch which our kids declared the highlight of the afternoons. The kids club is energetic and creative with painting sessions, nature walks and hands on workshops that gave us pockets of grown up time. 

Service felt impeccable and personal. Our butler took care of the small logistics so our family could linger over slow breakfasts and snorkel trips. Javvu Spa is a calm, decadent retreat when you need a pause, perfect for a sauna and tranquil couples massage.  Dining is a real treat. Breakfasts at Fresh combine a generous spread with a la carte choices so mornings never repeated themselves. Favourite evenings included the overwater Japanese restaurant Feeling Koi and Barolo for authentic Italian dinners that felt wonderfully grown up while still family friendly. 

If you are travelling with children and want both adventure and ease, Amilla is the rare place that manages both. For us it was morning swims in our private pool, sandy afternoons and snorkeling with experts, all wrapped in the kind of service that makes a family holiday feel effortless and special. We loved the stylish Mediterranean-inspired cuisine at Bluefin, the international buffets at The Gallery, and the authentic, flavorful dishes at Taste of India, truly some of the best Indian food we’ve had in a long time.

Days were filled with endless activities and relaxation. We explored the vibrant marine life on snorkeling excursions, set out on unforgettable dolphin cruises, and enjoyed afternoons at the stunning main pool surrounded by breathtaking lagoon views. A highlight was our visit to the resort’s world-class spa, a sanctuary of calm and indulgence where we experienced an incredible couples massage that left us feeling completely rejuvenated. Evenings often included family time at the entertainment area, where we played pool, foosball, and board games together.

Sunset Social, the overwater bar, became our go-to spot for unwinding with a drink in hand as the sky turned golden and the ocean shimmered beneath us.
