Just a few weeks and it feels like the world has flipped but in the very best way.   The boy and I are shifting into our new roles a little more each day and I can see the shape our lives will soon take.  Big changes make you look at your life through new eyes, reevaluating relationships, and weeding out the good from bad.  Surrounding myself with positivity and strength so we can grow into a healthier, balanced existence.  Now more than ever I feel adverse to negativity and pressure, and there is nothing more optimistic than watching something you created grow, thrive, and bond in the most natural way. Our days are what we make it and we can choose to push, mold, and wring every last minute hoping to manipulate it into what we think we may want or we can just learn to stop, breathe and enjoy.

Autumn is creeping up on us fast, and despite the fact that HK will stay warm for several more months, the festivities that come with passing months are inching closer by day.  We are already planning far off travels, dreaming of which beach we will choose to welcome 2014, and all the weddings and new additions the end of this year will bring.

I’m motivated this month.  Not the usual, mentally checking things off a list, chastising myself for not achieving more, and reaching a daily deadline motivated.  A real I’m going to accomplish something big motivated.   Surviving on four hours sleep and zero minutes of free time is not second nature to me, but it’s been three days and I’m powering through.  Little time has been left for meals, relaxing evenings or weekends away, but it’s just 30 days or so right? So here we go.  If you see me this month, I’m probably the dishevelled mess running around town.

 This constant torrential rain is killing me, but I guess it’s a great reason to wear something that is so waterproof it actually looks great with rain drops glistening on the surface.  My moods are swaying towards long hours in bed with green tea over parties and champagne at the moment.  I’ve taken a few leaps to sample new endeavours lately and the results have been more than rewarding.  Stepping out of my comfort zone is always daunting and easily avoided.  I find reasons to skip the next step which makes something become reality.  This time I’m glad I jumped in.  I hope you guys will love the outcome as much as I do.

There are weekends when you surround yourself with insatiable company, enough tequila shots to drown a club, and bundles of forgotten moments, and there are times you crave a quiet moment.  It was nice to escape with the boy and locate a sliver of sunshine on Lamma Island.  We wandered down overgrown paths and trekked about exploring until incessant mosquitoes challenged our sanity.  The night ended with a long beer fuelled, seafood fest and a dark city lit yacht ride to shore.  Finding more ways to escape the constant full force attitude that drives this city.  It’s the small time out that makes you love everything else.

Long weekends always sneak up and surprise me at the most unexpected times.  I guess being self employed means calendars mean nothing more than a long list of meetings, parties, and dates.  Is it really the boy’s bday soon?   We never plan more than two weeks in advance and ignore deadlines until the absolute last minute.  I wonder if we’ll ever grow out of this frivolous habit.  Hope not.

Throw all your favourite stuff together and wear it out.   I’ve been wearing a variation of this outfit all week, basically due to comfort and the random HK weather which is a little hot and cold at the moment.  I decided to throw on my Bliss Lau collar over the top to add a little bit of luxe to an altogether sloppy look.  I love this piece which you can wear in four different ways and is perfect for random layering.  Off to enjoy the non-rainy weather and share a bottle of wine with the boy.

It’s been so wet everyday in HK lately, so when I spotted a gigantic, ominous cloud while gymming I decided an oversized tee and ankle boots would be a safe bet for a stormy Tues night. I can’t believe May has rolled around so quickly. Lets hope the weather perks up so we can welcome Summer to the city. The boy and I have been in bed all day plotting imminent travels and trips. Can’t wait for a plane packed few months.

Skipping around the historical area of Macau, sampling Portuguese restaurants, and sitting next to fountains on a refreshingly windy day.  I have never really explored this Asian “Vegas” in the past, but the boy and I are ecstatic about the decadent dining options and slightly European streets.  There are plenty little pockets of cuteness to be discovered, and the air feels just a little cleaner than HK’s usual smog
