We all know I have a slight addiction to travel. My dreams are frequently filled with tropical beaches and humidity, obscure delectable cuisine, neon illuminated lights displaying a foreign tongue, and submerging in unfamiliar traditions and culture. Sitting patiently at the top of my “must see” list is Tokyo, a city with hot dog vending machines, goldfish pedicures, endless sushi and ramen joints, and the new Opening Ceremony store. I was devastated to hear that my Father and brother are taking a trip to my “must see” destination a mere week before my arrival in Asia. Could they not have waited just 7 days?! So after much pouting and disdain I was promised a suitcase full of gifts upon their return. But what to ask for?! Any of you out there have recommendations…anything from beauty products and fashion to your favourite or most obscure Japanese candies and cookies. All suggestions are welcome!

There is often speculation on this blog about my daily activities, and how I circulate an income which allows constant evenings out, and spontaneous travel. I am not overly enthusiastic about divulging details, but lets just say I am incredibly lucky to work for family under flexible circumstances, and it is not at all fashion related. One of my few job requirements includes attending events as the ‘face’ of our company, and the soiree of choice last night was T3‘s annual winter party, sponsored by our insanely cool PR team. We devoured mini burgers and brownies, delved into a sea of Coronas, and witnessed the very brave take turns on a giant vodka luge. Our taxi arrived precisely when the music ceased. Great nights end with perfect timing.

I’m ecstatic to announce the arrival of my favourite month. Aside from bitterly chilling temperatures, the 12th month holds a condensed list of my treasured moments. Avid preparation for our annual winter trip to Hong Kong is current priority, and health has taken a slight backseat. Plans include the usual: attend my Father and Uncle’s yearly black tie birthday event, condone reckless behaviour while celebrating my turning of age, and experience a perfectly unconventional Christmas day. Our hectic month takes a running start with T3‘s annual winter party tonight at The Light Bar. The blog’s first December is destined to be a memorable one. Two weeks until Hong Kong, 3 weeks until the birthday, and 31 days of extravagant, glittering activity. I manage to percolate more excitement each year.

Spending the day burrowed beneath covers, waking slowly to the sweet aroma of just brewed caffeine, clicking through a blur of bright images, sizzling my tongue on spiced vegetable soup, listening to the lullaby of rain against glass, and pondering the delightful results of lazy behaviour.

Sorry for the lack of outfit posts this week. Cold weather encourages me to hibernate, accompanied by peppermint tea, and a very cozy puppy. I managed to avoid lifting a finger until yesterday, during my first attempt at Thanksgiving dinner. I constantly complain each year about missing one of my favourite American holidays. Who doesn’t love a celebration based around eating?! So the boy happily obliged by attempting our own mini-thanksgiving for two. I am delighted to report that dinner (made by yours truly) was deliciously successful, and even the dog joined our festivities. We roasted a succulent, juicy turkey, mashed creamy, butter infused potatoes, and created a mouthwatering gravy. John Mayer’s new album hummed in the background, and champagne flowed in abundance. Apparently cooking is easy, and seriously manageable. I may even consider hosting guests next year.

(He catered an extraordinary Thanksgiving for 40, inclusive of 2 turkeys, broccoli casserole, carrots, three kinds of potatoes, stuffing, and homemade pecan pie all by himself….I admit defeat!)

At least once a month we head south to the boy’s hometown, Brighton, and partake in a reckless night of excess. The night commences with a dinner date at our favourite French bistro, before merging with a cluster of friends at their usual pub destination. I decided the lace blouse deserved another outing, and debuted my vintage fur cape, which was acquired in Paris for less than €40. At times the best moments are too crowded, completely blurred, and ridiculously wild. Although the recovery is brutal, I look forward to a repeat session.
