H&M sweater, Topshop shorts and hat, Jeffrey Campbell boots.
Playing dress-up, buying furniture, walks with the dog, lots of family meals, wine with the boy, and plenty of spa treatments in between. Still a few days before we return to the city and we’re soaking up as much down time and pool breaks as possible before heading back.
Dress was gift from my cousin, Urban Outfitters top.
There are certain comments which can dig at my every insecurity. I have been through circles of doubt and moments of extreme betrayal. I have felt smaller than a pebble and often fear embarrassment. I can morph to fit with the crowd, and stand tall during moments of strength. People often don’t believe me when I state I used to be incredibly shy, but the truth is I still feel shadows of it on a daily basis. I envy those who laugh at the sharp words of others. I admire those who can look past the surface and I aspire to be as strong as the most self assured people I know. A peaceful, calm confidence is my ultimate goal.
a little monday night inspiration. does anyone have overfull folders of inspiration monopolizing their entire desktop? i think i need to organise and consolidate, but for now i’ll just share a few.
Topshop blazer and heels, Egoist tank, H&M shorts, sunglasses, and earrings, and bag courtesy of Kipling.
Sunday brunches have been a staple for the boy and I since the beginning of our dating days. We started with plates of cheesy fries seaside, and circulated everything from revolving belt sushi to tapas and the traditional English roast. After our move to Notting Hill, we found the ideal spot in Electric Brassiere where their cheeseburgers were fit for curing any hangover, but the move to Hong Kong has left us with a never ending line of choice. After vetoing the ever popular hotel buffets and bottomless champagne options, we’ve decided La Marmite’s traditional French charm and 208’s siciliana pancakes are definitely leading the race. Stay tuned for further Sunday adventures 😉
Denim shirt from boutique in Taipei, Free People tunic, Asos boots, H&M sunglasses.
Test drove my brothers new Nikon and fell head over heels in love with the results. I’ve spent the day eating a few too many bowls of noodles, playing audience to the boy and bro’s x-box US Open match, venturing out for only seconds in the sticky heat to run errands, and contemplating venturing over the bridge for a date night in Kowloon. It’s looking like a promising start to the weekend 😉
The boy’s tattered All Saints tee, vintage skirt, and Asos boots.
I thought a splash of sparkle would brighten what seems to be a slightly mundane Tuesday. Life has been speeding by lately, I almost find myself bored when given a moment of nothing. Weird to think it was only six months ago I would happily stay in bed with coffee and magazines on a very regular basis. Change can be good, and work isn’t as treacherously stressful as I previously believed, as long as it’s something I love.
Back at my dad’s place, crossing our fingers for a rain free evening so the boy’s birthday party can remain an outdoor bbq/pool event. Haven’t committed to an outfit yet, but will share as soon as I decide 😉
Leather jacket from Chinese boutique, Forever 21 top, One Teaspoon shorts, and Asos boots.
Hong Kong’s heat is coming at full speed and wearing my leather jacket for the half hour I managed was unbearable enough. Now comes the season of barely there outfits, humidity induced wavy hair, constant sunkissed skin, and air conditioning addictions. Our place is currently an ice box, but I cannot express the relief of cold air after stepping in from the city’s hot, busy streets. The boy and I spent all day sampling the ice tea stands within a 50 step radius. I can tell there will be a lot of iced honey green tea drinking in the upcoming months.
