Our first time visiting Dubai and I’m pretty sure we couldn’t have chosen a better place for this family getaway. Atlantis, The Palm is made for adventurous kids and will keep them excited and busy throughout your stay. From the impressive aquarium as soon as you enter to the sprawling water park and amazing dining outlets you be spoilt with choice. We highly recommend booking an Imperial Club Room where you’ll get access to the Imperial Lounge and enjoy luxurious breakfasts and evening cocktails. Imperial Rooms also have exclusive access to a private beach where the service is impeccable and ambiance is always five star. Below are our favourite experiences during our stay.

Atlantis, The Palm Checklist:

Aquaventure waterpark: Hop on the resort shuttle and get dropped off at Asia’s biggest waterpark. There’s an area for every age group including babies and families with children over 120cm can partake in all the adrenaline inducing fun. Our favourite ride was the group slide at Poseidon Tower.

The Lost Chambers: One of the most incredible aquariums we’ve visited to date. You get free entry as a hotel guest so go as many times as you like. We loved the Fish Tales Tour where the kids went behind the scenes with a marine biologist. We got the see shark eggs, baby sting rays, and learned about all the species at the aquarium, how they’re fed and cared for, and even their unique release program.

The Royal Pool: This is where you get that iconic photo of Atlantis’s unique architecture. There’s plenty of space to laze and swim and as the pool is so gigantic you never feel crowded. Lifeguards are on duty to ensure everyone’s safety and you’re just steps to the picturesque beach if you’re in the mood for sandcastles.

WaveHouse: Bowling, kids play area, buzzing ambiance, and mouthwatering comfort food, this spot makes meal time fun for all ages. It’s a great option for families who are looking for a casual venue and you seriously can’t beat those burgers and pizzas.

Seafire Steakhouse: For a memorable dinner or celebration head over to Seafire for our most decadent meal during our stay. We are a foodie family so loved the fresh shellfish and truly impressive selection of steaks. Even the Kids Menu serves mini filets.

Don’t forget to check out the Kids Club where children can sign up for fun activities throughout the day and of course the stunning sunset from the terrace of the Imperial Lounge. The rooms are spacious enough for a family of four or book a connecting room if you need. The ideal choice for a long weekend where the whole family can play and indulge.

Taj Exotica is one of my favorite islands in the Maldives. I was surprised to arrive at such a stunning and pristine resort located at the center of an idyllic lagoon while being only a short boat ride from the airport. The entire island is walkable, surrounded by picturesque white sand beaches, vibrant marine life, and lush sweeping palms. Our overwater villa was both grand and spacious complete with a large master bedroom, decadent bathroom, inviting lounge area where you can add extra beds for the kids, and a huge outdoor terrace with a refreshing private pool. We loved stepping into the crystal clear ocean right from our villa and snorkeling around the house reef as a family. Their indulgent floating breakfast is a must do during your stay and we enjoyed all their dining destinations including juicy burgers poolside and the unique overwater fine dining restaurant, Deep End. When we weren’t sunbathing, swimming, and exploring the island, we indulged in couples massages and sunset cocktails at their rustic and stylish bar. It was the ideal, intimate and luxurious island experience where you felt right at home in paradise.

Kihaa is located in UNESCO protected Hanifaru Bay and is one of the most stunning locales in the Maldives. The small and friendly island is surrounded by idyllic white sand beaches, crystal clear turquoise waters, and a vibrant house reef brimming with marine life. Our rustic and stylish Beach Suite was perfect for those travelling with young children allowing ample space for extra beds, a separate lounge for relaxation, dreamy outdoor bath, and a picturesque private pool set right on the beach. We loved exploring the dreamy island, lazing upon the alluring hammocks, snorkeling and partaking in the daily fish feeding, enjoying cocktails while the sun set, and splashing in the main pool after a big day on the beach. They also had an fully staffed kids club and outdoor play area and fun activities including a cinema night under the stars. The buffet restaurant served fresh and delicious comfort food throughout the day and the all inclusive package was a must add inclusion so we could enjoy wines at meals as well as poolside cocktails, or drinks at the bar throughout the day. Kihaa has plenty of room options and can be very affordable for those looking to visit Maldives without breaking the bank. An amazing option for those looking for rustic beauty, the best snorkeling and diving opportunities, and a beautiful and welcoming island in one of the country’s most picturesque atolls.

The Residence Maldives at Dhigurah is the perfect choice for an idyllic family getaway. Set on one if the most stunning islands in the Maldives you’ll find yourself surrounded by crystal clear water and a vibrant house reef. We loved staying in our luxurious overwater villa complete with private pool, and being able to step right in and snorkel on our front step. We spotted reef sharks, stingrays, and even turtles during our stay.

There’s plenty to explore on the island and the best way to get around is by bike. Head to the watersports beach to grab a kayak or check our their organic garden and partake in a local cooking class. Laze beside the main swimming pool while enjoying a cocktail and try one of their many delicious restaurants throughout your stay. Whether you’re craving Chinese, Seafood, or a good steak you’ll find it at one of the amazing dining outlets. Even the buffet is impressive with massive seafood spreads and tempting grilled meat and seafood.

The Residence Maldives at Dhigurah and their sister resort The Residence Maldives are attached by a 1 km bridge which you can easily cycle across during your stay? This means when you book either resort you have access to all the dining outlets, beaches, swimming pools, kids clubs, and other five star facilities at both resorts. We loved exploring throughout our stay and a huge highlight is the secluded sandbank that sits between both resorts easily accessible via the bridge. Don’t worry if you have little ones or don’t want to ride a bike the friendly staff are quick to drive you across the bridge at any time of choice. We highly recommend the All Inclusive package so you can freely dine at all the restaurants, enjoy cocktails and wines with your meals or at the sunset bars on either island.

Whether you’re craving a quiet escape or a fun filled active holiday you’ll find it at The Residence Maldives at Dhigurah. Truly one of our family’s favorite resorts in paradise.

Rixos The Palm is a one stop destination for an unforgettable family holiday. Their King Suite is a spacious and luxurious sanctuary complete with a grand living area and dining room, huge master bedroom, decadent jacuzzi bath, and three private balconies. We loved the variety of facilities available ensuring our family were always busy and happy. Days started at the state of the art gym where we could partake in group classes or just get a workout in at the modern establishment. Breakfast was always a decadent affair with one of the most varied and high quality buffets we’ve seen. After a long a leisurely morning we couldn’t resist a dip in the stylish main pool or grabbing a sun lounger on the private beach while enjoying the spectacular view of Dubai’s iconic skyline. We never went hungry with the huge variety of eateries on offer and even enjoyed coffees and cakes at the patisserie. The kids couldn’t get enough of the Rixy Kids Club where there was a full schedule of fun activities and indoor and outdoor play areas.

Rixos the Palm has one of the most amazing all inclusive packages where you’ll be spoilt with incredible dining, delicious cocktails, an impressive wine list, and so much more.

FushiFaru is a stunning island with fine white sand and crystal clear waters. We loved every minute here but one of the unique things we enjoyed most about this resort is their concentration on Maldivian culture. They fused local qualities with five star luxury so we were able to experience more of the amazing delights Maldives has to offer. From local flavours to music, art, dance, and even traditional games we saw another side of the county not often seen at luxury resorts.

Their inviting, newly refurbished villas come in many categories with options for those travelling with children. We loved our Two Bedroom Duplex Beach Villa with Private Pool where two large ensuite bedrooms are connected by a cozy lounge. The private pool was steps from the picturesque beach and we throughly impressed with the indulgent outdoor bath.

Although FushiFaru is a smaller island you’ll never run out of things to do. From snorkeling and swimming to spending time by the refreshing main pool to joining in the fun evenings at the bar and so much more. Dining options are delicious andvaried with mouthwatering buffets and lively teppanyaki or even a unique floating sushi boat in your pool. Their all inclusive package is one of the best values we’ve seen in the Maldives and includes a selection of tempting cocktails and enjoyable wines.

Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway or unforgettable family holiday you’ll love this intimate and personable island. Not only will you feel right at home from the start but the small touches will ensure you have a trip to remember.

FushiFaru is accessible by a seaplane ride from Male. Transmaldivian Air offers an amazing and memorable service where you can enjoy epic views of the islands from above. Our kids love the water take offs and landings and the staff and pilots are always there to ensure the journey is both safe and enjoyable. An absolute must do to complete your Maldives adventure.

We’ve been eagerly anticipating our return to Finolhu, the kids giddy with excitement to play here again. The last time we were here was almost three years ago. River was still wearing floaties and clinging onto those drowsy naps each afternoon. It was Ever’s first few times bravely meeting new friends at the Oceaneers Club without us by her side and both of them were captivated by the plentiful marine life and plethora of stars that decorated the night sky before bed each evening. River doesn’t remember much about that trip to the Maldives. He was still tiny toddling along the turquoise shores chasing crabs, but he has always had good feelings about the Maldives and a yearning to return. One of his only memories from those weeks on the islands was here at Finolhu when he swam with a mermaid and has often asked to see those photos with a smile. His little heart burst when he met her again during this stay. We often get asked if Maldives is child friendly and I’m always very adamant it’s one of the very best family destinations. Not only are resorts bending over backwards to ensure your kids are enjoying themselves but places like Finolhu are even creating moments of magic that will make their trips that much more special, a fond piece of their innocent childhoods.

Our family were able to enjoy a stunning, newly refurbished overwater villa with private pool during our stay. Not only was the villa luxurious and spacious but we had a huge pool surrounded by turquoise ocean, directly facing the colourful sunset. There was plenty of room to add extra beds for the children and we made full use of the expansive outdoor terrace. When we pulled ourselves away from the decadent villa we enjoyed time at the many beaches, dipping into the warm clear water and building sand castles in the powdery white sand. Ever and River had amazing playful afternoons at the fully staffed kids club and they even had an adventurous day on the floating water park. You can also partake in a variety of watersports, meet the resident mermaid at their relaxing main pool, book a selection of cruises, or have a cinema evening under the stars.

Dining options are a huge highlight with mouthwatering world cuisines and scenic dining venues included in their all inclusive package. Check out the rustic and delicious Crab Shack on their picturesque sandbank or delve into Japanese fare overwater at Kansuan. Feast on Middle Eastern flavours at Arabian Grill or enjoy the mouthwatering array at the daily buffet served at Beach Kitchen. There was always something for everyone and no request was too large for our picky children.

If you’re looking for family friendly, luxurious amenities, a large varied island with stunning villas this is an amazing choice for your Maldives getaway.

Lily Beach Resort is a Platinum All Inclusive resort which means you don’t have to worry about fussy bills throughout your entire stay. The best part is you still get the luxurious experience. Amazing food, wines, and champagne, beautiful pools, beaches, watersports. Stunning overwater and beach villas and the unforgettable excursions such as snorkeling with turtles and dolphin cruises at sunset. The service is out of this world, extremely personable and friendly welcoming you from the moment you arrive. They always remembered our children’s favourite foods and drinks, had our preferred wine chilling in an ice bucket before we even arrived to dinner, and even added special touches in the room to ensure we felt right at home.

It’s hard to believe the stunning views throughout the resort with a lively coral reef surrounding the island. We loved kayaking over the corals and swinging in the ocean with a tropical cocktail while the sunset. If you’re interested in seeing sharks and stingrays their nightly feeding will be sure to impress and you can even book a session on their unique Penguin boat where you’ll see all the marine life up close and personal. We highly recommend the spacious and newly refurbished “The Residence” for families with small children and couples will love the romantic overwater villas and the stunning adults only pool and restaurant. There is really something for everyone at this inviting and exciting resort ideal for your idyllic family getaway.

As we embarked on our first international journey in over a year, I was worried about new travel restrictions and logistics of layovers with the new rules in place. We were flying from Bangkok to Maldives with a 12 hour layover in Singapore. A daunting feat with two young children. Luckily we found out that Aerotel Singapore was an option for transit passengers and had rooms that fit families. What a relief to know we could shower, feed our kids, and sleep before the last leg of our journey.

As soon as we disembarked our flight a member of the Aerotel team were there to greet our family. We were able to avoid waiting in lines with other passengers or walking our kids across the airport to the transit zone. A comfortable and efficient buggy expertly navigated through all the mew airport checkpoints and ensured we were checked in and in our suite within 10 minutes of arrival at the airport. We settled quickly in our family room which incorporated two large bedrooms, a cozy lounge, and full bathroom. Our stay included one meal for each of us with Kids Menu options and snacks and water. We were able to sleep and shower before the next flight and the staff escorted us straight to our departure gate before boarding began. Aerotel made what could have been a stressful and tiring journey a relaxing and easy process. We arrived at our destination well rested, happy, and ready to enjoy our holiday.
