Visit Cusco with Sonesta Hotel Cusco and discover the vibrant historic city.  We loved the family friendly property with cozy and modern guestrooms, incredible views, and inviting staff.  Each morning we started our day at the delicious and varied buffet breakfast before walking into the Plaza de Armas to explore the plethora of ancient sights.  You’re just a short walk to many mercados, eateries, and cafes and we couldn’t miss the opportunity to buy handcrafted souvenirs or take a picture with a cute baby lamb. Palacio Manco Capac is the perfect luxury choice for discovering the city of Cusco. Perched above the captivating city, the five star hotel is a tranquil sanctuary for your family’s stay in the cultural destination. Travel to Machu Picchu with PeruRail.  With trains departing from Cusco and Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, it’s the luxury journey of a lifetime to an unforgettable world wonder.  From the entertainment and scenery at the train station to the fully immersive scenic ride, and safe arrival to Aguas Calientes we couldn’t have asked for more from our experience.  We travelled in the luxurious Vistadome and were captivated  by panoramic windows surrounding the entire carriage.  We felt surrounded by verdant and stunning scenery alongside impeccable service and a truly decadent ride.  The Vistadome service includes sumptuous seating, locally produced snacks and refreshments during the journey, informative announcements pointing out iconic stops, and a cultural performance and fashion show.  Our kids were captivated every minute of the journey.  Not only did PeruRail ensure we have a safe and comfortable journey but made the ride to Machu Picchu an experience to remember.

Ollantaytambo was one of our favorite destinations in Peru, and El Albergue is an ideal choice for families looking to experience the charming town.  Set at the famous train station it’s a perfect jumping off point for exploring Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley.  The rustic yet stylish boutique hotel boasts comfortable guestrooms with modern amenities, beautiful grounds surrounded in lush greenery, and an on site organic farm.  We loved their farm to table dining options and sampling the traditional Pachamanca Lunch.  Our kids enjoyed meeting the resident animals and exploring the local school and we were only a few minutes walk to the artisanal market, historic ruins, and main town square.  Service was always friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the mix of traditional Peruvian ethos alongside world class hospitality.

Take your family on a luxury adventure to Machu Picchu with Sumaq Hotel.  As soon as you set foot in Sumaq’s inviting and stylish lobby you know you’re in for a five star experience.  We loved the grandeur paired with traditional Peruvian touches and the warm and welcoming staff ready to ensure you have a trip to remember.  Our kids were given individual check-in cards created for little ones to fill out.  They loved the welcome drinks and treats and were instantly excited due to the child friendly welcome.  As a family of four the grand and spacious family suite was perfect for our stay.  The bedding was plush and decadent and the kids were treated to mini bathrobes and personalised pillow cases.

Sumaq is optimally located on the stunning Urubamba River boasting spectacular views.  You’re within a few minutes walk to the heart of Aguas Calientes and the bus that takes you to the entrance of Machu Picchu.  The helpful staff assisted with any questions and ensured we had our tickets printed and the correct bus tickets for our day at the world wonder.

We stayed two nights and were on the half board package which was an absolute foodie treat.  The breakfast spread each morning was varied and mouthwatering including local and healthy options alongside made to order eggs.  Children had their own selection of character shaped eggs and pancakes making it such a fun way to start the day.  The gourmet dinner menu was some of the most delicious food we had in Peru and they also cater to young guests with a tempting and healthy kids menu.  Make sure to try their gastronomic experiences including learning how to make a classic ceviche or a perfect Pisco Sour.  Our kids throughly enjoyed the mini chef classes which was a perfect addition to our stay.

An unforgettable experience for our children  and every detail was arranged from transport and packed lunches to an amazing English speaking guide.  Holiday Inn offers free shuttle service to and from Lima Airport for all their guests.  The perfect stop before departing Peru’s capital to continue your journey.

Hyatt Centric Lima is the ideal choice for families looking to visit Lima during their trip to Peru. Located in the upscale neighbourhood of San Isidro the five star hotel is surrounded by stylish boutiques, enticing eateries, tranquil parks, and so much more.  We were just a stones throw to all of Lima’s sights and local mercados and loved the luxurious sanctuary of our modern room at the end of the day.  The rooftop pool, fully equipped gym, and elegant bar and bistro were a great respite throughout our trip and we loved the incredibly decadent breakfast buffet each morning.

Hyatt Centric was one of the kids’ favorite hotels in Lima. They really go out of their way for families from weekend movie nights and art sessions at Sunday brunch to the cutest tent set-up and personalised treats upon arrival. Nothing better than our children feeling right at home when staying in a new city!  The best part was weekend breakfasts stayed open until 12:30pm which meant we could sleep in and truly have a restful weekend.
