I’ve been a bit absent here lately, finding it hard to juggle work and sharing my thoughts in a concise format. How important is the ratio of bad and good? How much good is necessary to make the bad worth your time, tears, effort? Moving to a new city always makes you weigh your options, and after two years I’m still learning the ins and outs of how to make somewhere home. It took me moving away from England, certain that somewhere else was where I wanted to be to decide to go back last time. Now I’m certain I don’t crave living in Europe any longer. Surviving on a faster pace and extreme diversity has made my appetite for excitement stronger than ever. I find it hard to imagine settling for somewhere less insane, less fervent than Hong Kong. I would miss the busy Monday nights, constant on the go attitude, opportunities being thrown on your doorstep by the minute, and endless string of social events. Learning how to balance it all is the fine art I’m willing myself to perfect.

This weekend is your last chance to shop C. by Christing C. at Polkadot Boutique. Go see my favourite new snakeskin print, tartan shorts, sequin skirts, and fur vests.

The skies are turning hazier by day and HK’s streets are feeling less suffocating by the minute. I’m enjoying wandering hand in hand down deserted streets while the rest of the city has escaped for the long weekend. Gorging on salt infested popcorn while devouring the latest 3D movie, building a fort like space in our living room just to snuggle and watch bad comedies while half paying attention, organizing and reorganizing a bursting wardrobe and still finding it too hard to part with anything. Off to enjoy one more ice cream with the boy.

The weekend has gotten off to a slightly tedious start. Being swamped with work and knowing you must wake on a Saturday morning to continue is just a little bit over strenuous for a holiday weekend. I’m getting very excited for our upcoming vacation though, so after a few tough weeks we are off and away for a month. Just working on fine tuning all the last minute details in our usual manner, but it’s developing into a fun filled, city hopping tour.

Our next C. by Christing C. Pop-Up is almost here! This time we are collaborating with Polkadot Boutique, and joining their collection of well curated international and local designers. There will be over 25 new styles being launched during this pop-up and we’ll also be bringing back a few of our online hits, so make sure to stop by and shop the collection.
Last Wednesday’s Karen Millen event was the perfect flirty, fun girls night. We all had a blast shopping and playing dress up in the new Fall/Winter pieces, enjoyed mini makeovers courtesy of Airplay Bar and The Nail Library, and feasted on delicious cupcakes by Sakura Cupcakes. I was seriously lusting after the red tartan skirt and buttery soft leather jackets, and loved the edgy vibe they are toying with this season. Make sure you stop by their Central Central location and try pick up a few Fall wardrobe staples.

There are times when it takes a gut wrenching, impossible day to turn things around. Disappointment can breed change, and a sudden flicker of realisation often shifts everything back into place. I don’t expect it to be easy, but I thrive on the effortless days, those carefree moments when worries have lightly escaped into a sun filled sky. When my mind is foggy with content, and I want nothing more than to observe a darkening horizon. I’m not sure I could survive without the ability to know that nothing actually matters except for love, health, and happiness. Don’t dwell on the superficial, thrive on unexpectedly beautiful nature and unburdened emotion.
