What I wore for a quiet date with the boy last night.  It’s a long weekend in Hong Kong to celebrate the brightly lit full moon, so the boy and I are partaking in all our favourite activities.  Lots of meals, wine, yacht trips, and relaxing days at the country club.  I am turning a new leaf and trying for a far more optimistic perspective.  Sometimes it’s neccessary to listen to your instincts rather than over think a situation.

Ohhh and in other exciting news… My dad just surprised us with a trip to Europe!! So we will be in Milan and Paris in less than two weeks.  Too exciting 🙂

What I wore to hang out with the boy last evening.  One of the best things about Hong Kong is cocktails at happy hour can turn into impromptu dinner dates, and last minute drunken nights with friends at a delicious restaurant opening.  Last night I discovered I’m very obsessed with Socialito’s outdoor, taco truck set-up, and rumour has it they will be revealing a happy hour in the very near future.  I may have a reason to visit the ever busy Wyndham Street after all.

Being handed a series of confusing thoughts, a list of uncertanties, wondering what to trust. My instinct is to run full speed ahead and contemplate the consequences on a later date, but finding yourself in a relatively new place opens the door for a questioning mind.  I value full hearted smiles, unrestricted laughter, unguarded loyalty, and genuine support.  Those close to my heart say I’m vulnerable, too quick to give and so easy to wound.  The truth is I find it impossible not to care, my instinct is always to help, and worries constantly plague my mind when I can’t turn around with out guessing what they may say.  But for now all I can do is stand tall, brave the daunting path, and hope I dont fall along the way.  Taking small steps until I find the courage to run.

I heart date nights with the boy.  Over ordering at new Peruvian restaurant Chicha, running through incessant rain fall.  musing over cocktail menus, cozy corners in dimly lit wine bars, and general banter that doesn’t require a second of self concious behaviour.

Bec & Bridge St Cloud Cami available at Christing C. Forever 21 feather necklace, H&M sunnies.

The weather gods have been gracing us with dream filled blue skies and scorching heat all week, so the boy and I took the opportunity on a free Tuesday afternoon to escape to the beach. I am partial to leaving Hong Kong Island to find my favourite beaches. Lantau always feels deserted, natural, and generally more green. We watched the sunset, admired the herd of cows in the sand, and dined by candlelight. Couldn’t get more relaxing.

daydreams

written by ChristingC

It’s been a quiet weekend of chilled long dinners, reading in bed, and waking up far past noon.  I’m almost consistently confused when looking at the clock.  It feels good to lose myself a little, step outside of my thoughts, and imagine everything is just that easy.

Random denim shirt, Kain tank, H&M bikini and sunnies.

It takes less than 45 minutes to taxi out of the city and reach a nearly secluded destination complete with warm sand, cool water, and romantic sunsets.  South Bay’s most appealing attribute is definitely the fact that there’s barely a person in sight once the lifeguards depart and the sun commences it’s descent.  The boy and I arrived fully prepared with wine, food, and a noteworthy playlist.  We witnessed the sun spread into an orange mess, waited until darkness set in, and enjoyed the quiet, breezy night.  Nothing better than arriving home slightly tanned and giddy from an wine infused romantic evening.  Let’s hope summer will bring many more of these days.

Aje skirt available at Christing C., H&M jacket, AA tank, Topshop heels.

I always imagined this skirt was inspired by an urban tinkerbell, so photographing it amidst a tree filled garden joined by slivers of sunlight seemed more than appropriate.  It is refreshing to escape Hong Kong’s thick city buzz, and breathe a lighter atmosphere.  The boy swears there’s tranquilizers in the air here, which explains why we spend most of our free hours asleep.  I am making full efforts to clear my mind, and unburden my heart from the last few months.  My bright eyed, optimistic self is coming back in full force.
See you on Wednesday Hong Kong.

Last night after the Shanghai Tang event.

This week has been beyond exhausting, but in the best way.  The boy and I are basically attached at the hip, destined to spend almost 24 hours a day together.  We quickly settled into this seemingly intense dynamic early on, and it took hold more permanently than we ever expected.  In London it was easy to retreat away into our own little world, candlelit dates on a daily basis, long afternoons at the pub, and lazy rainy days in bed.  I guess this is why the fast paced Hong Kong lifestyle has been equally overwhelming as it has been amazing.  We are always a few minutes away from a huge celeb filled event, drinks infused dining experiences with friends, hazy club nights beside the most talented djs, yacht days with the family, all day filming or shooting for the next creative collaboration, or a weekend getaway full of whiskey.  I can’t really even remember the last time I had a lie in bed, all day, every day type of week.  And yes that did happen A LOT in my former Notting Hill life.  Anyways I am determined to not miss a second so off for another big night with my favourites.  Happy Friday!!

xx

P.S. Thank you Shanghai Tang for the lovely scented candles.  They are perfect for a quiet night in.
