I loved that it was set amongst stunning scenery, a rugged Guanacaste beach, rolling hills and lush greenery.  The sprawling resort boasts family suites, crystal blue ocean views and a plethora of facilities and activities for the traveling family.  We enjoyed relaxed days beside the selection of swimming pools and long walks along the beach as well as fun filled afternoons at their Splash Waterpark.  When the kids craved indoor play they headed to Riuland where the lovely staff set up art activities and ensured they were well taken care of and happy.  The nightly shows were an entertaining highlight and Ever and River especially loved meeting their favourite Riu Hotels mascot, Calu.  Favourite memories of our trip included the surprising and exciting foam party in their main pool and the staff’s assistance in celebrating River’s 6th birthday.  Everyone went out of the at to make him feel special and details were easily arranged without any problems.  Dining options are abundant at the five star resort with a variety of a la carte cuisines and daily gourmet buffet.  Truly one of our favourite family friendly all inclusive brands around the world and always a huge hit with our children.  The resort is also perfectly located for day trips to explore beautiful Costa Rica and is set in one of the most beautiful areas of the country.  A great choice for those looking for a luxury all inclusive on Costa Rica’s captivating Pacific Coast.

I’m so happy we took the time to drive the few hours from Cancun and discover this vibrant little city. Merida is brimming with history dating back to the Mayans, has a rich food culture, and stunning architecture. We were lucky enough to stay in their Premium Club Tower which boasts stunning modern suites and personal butler service.  Guests in the tower gain access to a dedicated lounge and reception where you can enjoy all day dining, full service bar, and assistance around the clock.  We loved our spacious one bedroom suite complete with separate lounge and dining area as well as a sprawling terrace featuring a decadent jacuzzi. Hyatt Ziva is brimming with activities and facilities that will keep you entertained and excited throughout your stay.  We loved days under the sun in a private cabana enjoying fresh cold coconuts and dipping into the crystal clear Carribean Sea.  Their reef was the best we saw in the famous hotel zone and shallow enough for young swimmers.  The kids couldn’t get enough of the white sand beach, fun filled days splashing in the pool and spending hours at the fully staffed Kids Club.  Activities ranged from arts and crafts to epic trampolining and even parties hosted by the resort’s resident mascot, Zippy the Pig.  Each evening ended with a nightly show which was always engaging for the whole family.

A huge highlight at Hyatt Ziva is the variety of dining options.  French fine dining, mouthwatering steaks, fresh seafood on the beach, or just a juicy burger in the diner, they truly had it all.  We loved every meal and appreciated the differing cuisines and abundance of a la carte options.  The kids couldn’t believe there was a candy store and ice cream shop included in the all inclusive and  I must have visited the artisanal cafe multiple times for that perfect cappuccino.
