Birthday parties in Hong Kong are almost always themed. Seriously.. I have gone to everything from nerd, superhero, hipster, to a few I would love to forget. Denise of Superwowomg decided to host her karaoke bday celebrations with a school uniform theme. Funnily enough, in a group full of fashion bloggers, non of us went the slutty route, but actually did a literal take on the concept. Having never worn school uniform, I took inspiration from non other than my favourite school uniform style icons from Gossip Girl. Serena Van Der Woodsen to be exact. The others actually dug out their old school digs and wore it the exact way they would have when they were 12, with the addition of a few accessories, tattoos, or glasses now applicable to everyday life. I guess you go backwards when you fear becoming old 🙂
